  • Excel experts! please help me with this referencing issue?

I have on the first page in Excel a list of names in one column and states they belong to in the next column. Eg. John Smith - New South Wales, Bob Jones - Queensland, Sally Brown - South Australia etc. What I want to do is the following pages is to have a separate page for each state (one for New South Wales, one for Queensland etc.) which references from this first page the names of those who belong to this state one after the other. I want it automatic, not using 'sort' or a macro - just a formula - even if I could do it in two steps to reach the outcome. I could use the "IF" function but it will leave blanks in the rows. Any ideas...?

  • Billboard advertising next to a major freeway... any tips?

Our business is located within close proximity to a large freeway. We would like to setup a sign on the neighboring property. The neighbours have agreed but would I need to contact anyone else? We are located in Sydney.

  • Can you prove evolution?

Most people believe evolution is a fact, but how can you prove that a species can change into another species? Has anyone actually seen, or observed this in human history (not micro evolution)? If you can't than I assume that it is just a matter of faith.

  • Can ISPs prove how much you download?

I've just recently got a new slimline modem - and put on a 2GB wirelss plan. When I got my first bill, they said I downloaded almost 4 GB of data and want to charge me $360. I know for a fact that this is ridiculous as I mostly use it for email, the computer was broken for actually a week, and I have automatic updates switched off (nobody in my household uses it either). So, I'm wondering is there any way of ISPs being able to prove that you downloaded info from certain websites - all I have is the bill with dates and the amount of data downloaded but can they show me the websites to prove it? Is there any body that I can complain to (I'm in Australia)?

  • Copyright of corporate logo?

If a logo is designed for your business (or in my case a school), does the business own copyright of that logo, or does it have to be registered? If someone has used your logo on a website without your permission do you have the right to demand that they take it off and how would you do this?

  • how to draw a smooth curve in photoshop?

I've got to draw a really nice smooth wavy curve. I know you can use the pen tool and control points but is this the only way? As this tool needs a bit of practice I'm after just a quick way of doing it without too much fiddling.

  • Christians: Does God test us or does Satan tempt us?

When you have a trial, is it mainly God that is making things happen to test you or is it just God allowing the devil to have a go at you because we're living in a world of sin? Does God give some control to Satan and how much?

  • Carbon dating - is it 100% true or based on 'faith'?

Ok, many believe the earth was formed over millions of years? Many claim this is based on solid evidence and not on 'faith' or trust about what their Science teacher told them? I say, can you back up that position - or do you simply believe what others tell you? Consider this:

    1. For carbon dating to be accurate, you must assume the rate of carbon decay is constant. But changing the environment has shown the opposite to be true, and samples from various sources have also shown inaccuracies. Or do you faith that environments have never changed?

    2. For carbon dating to be accurate, the ratio of carbon 12 to carbon 14 has to remain the same - as this is what is based on. But events in the earth's history such as the industrial revolution etc. have been proven to lead to a higher concentration of carbon in the earth's atmosphere (and throwing out the ratio). This is just one event out of thousands of years which could lead to a variance. Or do you have 'faith' that carbon concentrations have always been stable and vast climate/environmental changes never happened?

    3. Many claim that all plant and animal life utilize carbon 14 as equally as carbon 12. But this isn't necessarily so. Live molluscs off the coast of Hawaii had their shells carbon-dated, showing that their shells died 2000 years ago! It was quite a shock to the molluscs that had been using the shells recently. Or is this report just made up?

Most evolutionists who are genuine would conclude that carbon dating is only accurate to about 3000-4000 years, as there are too many variations in non-compliant dates in carbon testing. So, to me carbon dating seems to be mostly based on ''faith' - that rules about carbon have remained true. Nobody was there millions of years ago so you cannot 'prove' carbon-dating 100% as many claim to do.
