1986 chrysler lebaron gts blows tail light fuse?

Question

My lebaron just started doing this so I replaced the fuse and as soon as you pull the light switch on you can here it blow.I am quite literate in how a cars wiring works, and realize I have A direct short, but I have "chased" the wiring and all and was wondering.Can the light switch itself have A direct short within the inside of it?All of this wiring is original,  all factory electrical plugs, and the wiring no where has been "tapped into"..I have installed A basic stero/cd player but I bought the wiring jacks from A dealer ship that plug right into the cars wiring,no splicing of wires.The car did not start blowing fuses untill after a month or two of putting the stereo in.Can the light switch actually have a short within?

i have seen a switch or two that was shorted but that usually leaves the lights on and nothing more.

YES, YES and................yes. The switch can have a short in it. If your fairly good with wiring get a wiring diagram and bypass the switch and see what happens. I couldn't see the stereo being the as problem. The tail light should be ont a seperate fuse. Also the wrong bulb can blow fuses.

somebody incorrectly put in the radio. The wiring is all twisted up! She needs to pass to a good mechanic (no longer a pal or chum of a pal) and have this corrected or she would be waiting to get in an accident or a value ticket or the two. it incredibly is risky for her. Ask Andrew Garcia from usa Idol if he has any "cousins" who can help. i'm hoping you comprehend i'm only kidding. Sorry for the subject concerns.

when you put stereo in you may have pinched wire to dash lites on same fuses tail lites
