Can someone pls tell me what is the purpose behind twitter?

Its so self abosorbed people can continue to make them feel that way cause they think people give a shizza about what they are doing.

The purpose is self-gratifying communication, not unlike blogging (or dare I say it: Yahoo answers). But I think it is a fad that will quickly die. In fact, most people who sign up for twitter don't tweet very long before it becoming bored by the concept.

i guess it's a way to communicate with people..

but it's pretty much just being used as a way for celebrities to tell us little people about all the non-interesting stuff that has happened to them.
