    purpleplum,

Jake here with the Internet Explorer Outreach Team. Internet Explorer 8 will work with Windows XP. If you experience problems with IE8 and want them to be diagnosed and solved, visit the Internet Explorer Support step-by-step guide here: http://support.microsoft.com/gp/pc_ie_intro . If you want to install or upgrade to IE8 you can go to: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-explorer...

If you are having ie7 then continue with that, I would not recommend you to upgrade to ie8 now. its so because many sites are not yet fully compatible with ie8 at the moment and that ie8 is still under testing at many sites. that is many web features at some popular sites like orkut.com etc wont be available. You must wait for some time to switch over to ie8.

As for now there are no security conflicts between ie8 and Norton.

    Take care.

I updated to it about 2 months ago and have had no problems with it.

All it is really is a security upgrade to plug some of the holes IE 7 had. Nothing spectacular!

I do find it's a bit faster although I always disable all the junk on it like Feeds, Tabs, Web Slices, In Private and Phishing because they are the things that slow any browser down.

Personally I prefer Firefox but I'm now using Orca.

I don't like Norton Internet Security. It slows the computer right down. And there's lots of free alternatives out there.

if ur computer has SP3 --i would not put IE8 on it ---a news bulliten came out in january that u will not be able to remove it (IE8) so stay with 7 or use firefox or google chrome----this can be found on microsoft web site---just look for IE8 and SP3 problems

Ie8 is legit and everything so it SHOULDNT interfere with internet security etc. But I would just stick with 7 if you have no problems (its what I did)

I have it and its really slow! So stick with IE7.

But IE7 is also really slow so it recommend using firefox or google chrome as they are much faster and more reliable.

    Hope this helps ;)

i would not recommend installing it until they get the bugs out of it. it's terrible right now and has caused many people problems some were really bad!! Stay away from it for now as my name suggest :)
