Because Judaism does and Christianity and Islam are based on Judaism.

---Judaism:G-d promised the Land to Abraham and gave it to the Jewish people after they left Egypt. The 2 Temples were there. Israel (or Jerusalem or Zion) is mentioned in every prayer and all Jews from around the world face toward Jerusalem when they pray. There are many Torah Laws which can only be observed in Israel.

    ---Christianity: Jesus lived there.

---Islam: The early prophets went to the Jews holy land to establish a Temple on the site of the "Temple of Solomon".

btw: there is no place called Palestine anymore. The region (including Jordan and Israel) was called Palestine when it was ruled by the Ottoman Empire and later the British. When Britain established Transjordan on part of it and later Israel on the other part, it was split and now there is no more region called Palestine- only those 2 countries on land that used to be palestine.

That's where a lot of religions started at.
