Can you recommend a learn-at-home Spanish and/or Chinese program for elementary age kids?

My 5 year old son is extremely interested in learning Spanish and Chinese and I'd like to find a video or computer program to help him. He reads at a 4th grade level so something recommended for an age range of up to 10 would probably be okay. Low cost is preferable, but willing to look at all recommendations if it's worked well for you.

Heather, most people love Rosetta Stone, but even on eBay, it is expensive. Berlitz Kids has some good programs and they are readily available at your local Barnes and Noble or Borders. You might see if your library has any selections before buying any complete programs.

It's always good to watch television in Spanish, buy your son books in spanish, and have some friends that can teach him a bit of spanish.

If you can, try and take a look at a website that sells language courses, your son is 5 so he can pick up the language fast and easy. They also sell Chinese courses too. They have a section where you log in, I believe it's only $99 for lifetime downloads within their area. there is also another course which is about $299 but I recommend the $99 if you feel that's the proper weay you would like to go.

Rosetta Stone! It is expensive, but it is highly effective, and I found it to be the easiest and most interesting way to learn German. It will hold a child's attention very well as it has clear, exciting pictures to demonstrate every word/phrase. The language is easy to pick up because you constantly hear it spoken to you. If you can afford to get it, this is the program to buy!
