What does Clark Griswold give his boss in the movie Christmas Vacation?
He gives his boss a package that has the same shape as all the other gifts the boss has received, indicating everyone gave him the same generic gift. What is your best guess of what that gift is?

4 AnswersFish1 decade agoWould this ice/heat pack be allowed as carry on by TSA?
I bought this item as a gift and am flying to the shower tomorrow. I am not planning on checking anything as I am flying there and back same day. Now I worry that the ice/heat pack will not be allowed as carry on. This is the item: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_...
Thanks.
5 AnswersPacking & Preparation1 decade agoCan you recommend a learn-at-home Spanish and/or Chinese program for elementary age kids?
My 5 year old son is extremely interested in learning Spanish and Chinese and I'd like to find a video or computer program to help him. He reads at a 4th grade level so something recommended for an age range of up to 10 would probably be okay. Low cost is preferable, but willing to look at all recommendations if it's worked well for you.

5 AnswersHome Schooling1 decade agoThe buyer hasn't used the money we gave them for repairs. If it is returned to us, is it ours to keep?
When we sold our house at the end of July we put $4500 into an escrow account for the buyers to repair damages found during their home inspection. We got a call today from the title company that if the buyers don't use it by the end of this month it will be returned to us. Does that mean we are no longer contractually obligated to finance the repairs and the money is ours to keep or could the buyers come after us at some point for the money?
4 AnswersRenting & Real Estate1 decade agoI need advice on 5 year old asked to be ring bearer, 2 year old asked not to attend wedding (more details...)?
My sister lives 8 hours from us so we will be traveling to her wedding. She asked my 5 year old son to be the ring bearer, but asked that we not bring our two year old "because its not that kind of event." I am so incredibly hurt that I don't even know how to respond. I don't want there to be a lot of drama, but I feel that my daughter should either be allowed to attend or that both kids should be excluded. There are no behavioral issues, my sister has only seen the kids a couple of times. I feel so horrible that family pictures will not include my whole family. Any advice on how to approach this situation? I have a friend that lives in that town that can watch the kids.
11 AnswersWeddings1 decade agoIs there a better battery than Energizer Lithium Photo CRV3 for my Pentax *istD DSLR camera?
I'm happy with these batteries but if something better has become available in the year since I last replaced them I'd like to know. Also, if anyone knows the best place to purchase, please let me know. I last bought them at Walmart, which no longer carries them. Amazon.com is $6 plus shipping. Thanks for your help.

35 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoHas anyone used Dr. Scholls Freeze Away on a 4-6 year old? Please share your experience.?
My son is 5 and we discovered this morning that he has a wart on the top of his big toe. I'm considering using this product (it is approved for children as young as 4) but I would like to know people's experience especially ease of use, effectiveness, pain level, and duration of healing.
Thanks.

Hobbies & Crafts1 decade agoWhat is your opinion on curtains only on the sides of windows? Pics included for better description.?
I'm asking about curtains that could obviously never be functional for covering a window because the rods they are on do not extend over the actual window. Would it look better to just put a rod over the whole window so it LOOKS like they could be 'closed' or does it look okay to just have rods on each side? We have horizontal blinds on the windows so the curtains would be purely decorative.
I found these pictures online that show the general look I am asking about:
6 AnswersDecorating & Remodeling1 decade agoFor parents of toddlers that have older siblings: What does your younger child do that your older didn't?
What things can you directly attribute to your toddler having an older sibling?
For us, our toddler has picked up words and phrases that our first never did at that age like "mine," "I had it first," and "my turn."
3 AnswersToddler & Preschooler1 decade agoIs there a math equation or ratio for how much overhang a tabletop could have over the base and be stable?
I'd like to put a larger tabletop on my current table base. The current table top is 29" by 47" and it is 30" tall. If I put on a new table top that is 45" by 63" (an additional 8 inches all around) would it be stable on the current base?
Thanks.

3 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoWould it be possible to make a new tabletop out of MDF? How?
Our current table is 29" by 47" and I'd like to make it bigger until we have the money to replace it. I was thinking that I could cut a sheet of MDF to size, probably extending the current table by about 8" to 12" on each side. I would use a router on the edges and then I thought I would stain and seal it and then attach it to the current table with a construction adhesive.
Does this sound like it would work or does anyone have an idea of a better way achieve my goal (maybe MDF is not the right product)? Specific product recommendations would be very helpful. My husband and I are fairly competent at DIY. Here's a pic of the current table: http://i483.photobucket.com/albums/rr194/ybarheat/...

16 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoWhat is a good amount of time to have neighborhood kids over to play?
My son is 5, the two neighborhood kids who come over most often are 4 and 5. We just moved to a new neighborhood so kids just stopping by to play is new for me. I know their parents and have exchanged information but the parents do not come with them. I'm thinking 45 minutes is enough time before sending them home, what do you think?
