Call me selfish but I like to get the credit for my son's big gifts :).

Santa in our house fills the stockings. Our "big" gifts come 12 days later as part of the Epiphany or Three Kings Day (something my husband picked up from living in a Latin country). The three wise men sort of take the place of Santa and kids write letters to the three wise men, leave out carrots and what not for the camels rather than reindeer, and cookies for the wise men rather than Santa. We'll specify the more random gifts (the ones we wanted him to have) as being from los tres reyes (since we have to celebrate it in spanish...lol) and the gift(s) we knew he would really enjoy are from us.
But, we don't pretend that either are real and that Santa or the three wise men actually come and deliver gifts. It's a fun story and we celebrate because it makes us happy and is following tradition, not because they really come. :)

Every thing is from Santa. Honestly, while a child is still young enough to believe in Santa, they don't know what appreciation is, or that they should feel it. They don't know that they should appreciate gifts from us. They're just happy to get it, and aren't going to care or probably even notice who it is from. When they are old enough to appreciate if, they're not going to believe in Santa.

We don't do santa or "big" presents here. Just three small gifts from us (and whatever family sends of course) and a quiet fun day together.

He who pays the bills gets the credit.
Santa fills the stockings. Mom and dad buy the big things.

From GOD, this year my biggest present is by newborn, lol.
I think I would say its from the parents, we work hard for our money, so I want us to have credit.
