How much should I weigh?

I'm relatively new to cycling as I've been doing it almost every day for three months. I've started to think about endurance training so that I can compete in some bike races at the end of summer. I'm about 5'9 andI'm wondering approximately, how much should I weigh. obviously, the heavier I am, the more work on the bike I'll have to do.

My shoulders are really broad and I have really big arms ( 16.5 inch biceps without much weights.) I'm around 187 lb, at 15% body fat.

Where should I get to?

My brother is also 5"9 and when he was at a healthy weight he weighed between 165 and 170. Try adding in some running too, it really helps with weight loss. Good luck

At 187 and 5' 9" you are overweight.

You need to bring your body fat percentage down to an athletic level (10 to 12 percent), which will probably put you at around 170 pounds.
