Do you have the replace the door if an electric window won't roll up?
The other day, I closed my car door on our 2000 Focus Wagon, and the window glass fell down into the door. I was able to work it back up, and kinda jimmy it into place, but I've been told if you have electric windows, you have to replace the entire door in this case?? Is this true?

this happened to my car no you dont have to replace the whole door just the motor on the window but since yours fell completely down your motor may not be broken the window may have just come off the track. until you do get around to getting it fixed i recommend jamming something in the window to keep it from falling back down since my window would keep rolling down on its own and i would jimmy it in to place to lock up the car until one day it had gotten to the point where it wouldn't move anymore. the cable was stuck from all the rolling up and down.

no, not at all. the problem is probably the little wheel inside the door that runs in the track which moves the window up and down. it's a bit of a hassle to repair, but it is a at-home fix. remove the door handle, remove the inner door panel, move the weather barrier out of the way, take your pocket flashlight and look inside the door. run your hand carefully along the bottom of the door a feel for any parts that may have fallen. if you find broken parts, you may have to chase them down for replacement, but if it's just a retainer or keeper that fell off, put it back on.

Not true. The window rides in a track. The inside door panel is removed to get to the window. Might be just the arms that hold on to the track and make the window go up and down. You will see better when the panel is removed

No. You just have to replace the tape or mechanism that connects the motor assembly to the window regulator. A Ford dealer should have one. Requires taking the interior door panel off.

The plastic retainers probable broke. you're able to desire a clean window and or song. you are able to take the interior panel off the door, and placed the window back in place and tape it (or safeguard it in some way) till you will get it fastened appropriate.

Happened to me too. It seemed extremely expensive, the part was like $2.00 but the labor... ridiculous. You need that window if it is the drivers side. This is in MN your prices may be different, frankly replacing the door may end up being cheap, ask.

no you just need to replace the regulator assembly in it that's what makes it stay in place and also helps it to go up and down and all you have to do is remove the door panel to do that, you don't have to replace the entire door, good luck

not necessary.....1st- is window trying to go down or up when you activate the switch? do you hear any kind of noise, see any movement? if so then you have a mechanism problem. if you hear nothing at all when you activate switch then it,s probably an electrical problem, like not getting12DCV power to switch or 12VDC from switch to motor or broken wire in between.... good luck...............
