What do you think of the name Julian for a boy?
My fiance and I love "J" names. Out of all the names I picked, the only one he really likes is Julian. His name is John and we didn't want a junior so we are leaning towards Julian John. I started out loving the name--I picked it. And I love that John Lennon named his son Julian so I feel like the name has a good history to it. Part of me just feels not so completely sold on it anymore. I'm just wondering what your opinions are of the name Julian.
We're trying to avoid anything "John" or "Jon" because we don't want confusion thier whole lives. I don't want to call out "John! or Johnny!" and have them both say WHAT? And Joshua I just hate..thanks for the suggestion though.

i think it is a cute name, but it's important that you like the name and feel like it is the perfect name. Keep looking. You can always come back to it, if you choose.

I've always loved the name Julian! It sounds British-y but also sort of funky, maybe from the Julian Lennon vibe. Neat that your fiance's name is John too!
I also like Julius, very cute.

I love the name, but since one of my twin's is named Julien, I tend to be a little partial. Also, I call him Juju for a cute nickname
We spelled it with an 'e' to be a little different and I thought it looked more manly.
The name was also a compromise on the name Julius, after his great grandfather. At first I wasn't crazy about it, but as soon as I laid eyes on my son it was perfect and I couldn't imagine him with any other name!
Now I do have to admit, he sometimes gets called a she, but I just chalk it up to stupidity and lack of paying attention on the other person. If it was a girl's name it would more like Julie or Jillian, etc.

If you like the Beatles tie in, you could always try "Jude." You could name your son John Jude, and just call him Jude.
Julian is not a bad name, but it's not really my favorite.
