  • Is baby moving as much as he should?

I'll be 28 weeks pregnant this Sunday. I read somewhere that the most movement occurs between 24-28 weeks because as the baby grows, he has less room to move around. I have been feeling him move, but his kicks aren't really always super strong. Every once in a while I'll get a strong one, but not too often. I'm not overweight either. I'm just nervous that his kicks and punches should be much stronger by now. People keep asking me questions like "oh, have you gotten a good kick in the ribs yet?" My answer is no. I haven't had anything really uncomfortable. Should I be worried?

  • Advice from mommies who had their babies young?

    Hi Ladies,

Our little boy is due Sept. 13th. I am 20 and the hubby is 22. We've been together for about 3 years and got engaged 2 years ago. While we didn't plan on having children yet, we were pleasantly surprised when we found out. I'd like to hear any experiences from mothers who were around my age when they had thier first. I feel like there is always negative feedback when it comes to women having babies at my age because most women are waiting until thier late 20's, 30's and even early 40's to start families now. While I am going to stay home for at least the first year, my significant other has a stable career and we live quite comfortably. Was there really anything that you experienced that was different because of your age or anything you wish you could go back and change?

  • 26 weeks pregnant..feel bubbles popping in low abdomen?

I am just about 27 weeks pregnant. I have been feeling my son move since about 18 weeks but last night I felt a weird sensation I hadn't felt before. It literally felt like little bubbles popping one after another in my lower abdomen. I looked at my hubby and was like "I think he's blowing bubbles" lol that's really what it felt like! I don't know if he even can blow bubbles, so what could this possible be? It actually felt like the air might come out my private parts after it popped..sorry TMI!!Could it be hiccups? Any info would help...

  • I sprayed RAID all over my microwave. Is it safe to use?

A few weeks ago my hubby and I had an infestation of ants all over our countertops, in our cabinets, and unfortunately in our microwave as well. We live right next to the woods and had seen all of them outside but figured they wouldn't be able to get in since we live in a top floor apt.--we were wrong. Anyway, when I saw the large number of ants crawling around in my microwave, (without thinking) I just sprayed them all to hell with RAID. Inside, outside, in the vents, everywhere. I want to now get rid of the $300.00 microwave but my father in law keeps trying to persuade me to keep it. Keep in mind that I am also pregnant and don't want to take the chance that turning the microwave will cause fumes. He claims that it won't happen because the raid evaporates and is no longer in the microwave. He even offered to buy new vents for the microwave so we didn't have to replace it. (He's one of those guys that needs to find any way possible to save a dime). I don't even want to keep it in the apt. for fear that the next people who live there will use it without knowing what was sprayed in it! I feel like the risks outweigh the benefits. It's getting really frusterating going back and forth with my father-in-law trying to explain that I am uncomfortable using the microwave, so I need to know: Am I over-reacting? Is the microwave safe to use?

  • Why did it take so long for me to conceive?

It took me and the hubby about two years to conceive our son. I did notice that everytime we would have sex, as soon as I would stand up--everything would kind of fall out. Did this have something to do with it? I remember the day we conceived and I remember laying down for a while afterward and when I stood up, nothing really came out. Was it just a coincidence?

  • 25 weeks pregnant and the baby pushes himself outward?

Last night hubby and I were laying on the couch. All of a sudden one side of my uterus got really, really hard. It litterally felt like I was palming the babies head in my hand. The right side of my belly felt normal but it felt like he had curled himself up over there and was pushing himself outward. Is this normal? Were we feeling him, or just my uterus getting hard?

  • Awkward situation with a name for my son! Help?

    Hey ladies,

I need a little advice here. My hubby wanted to name our unborn son after himself, John. I begged him not to do this b/c of all the confusion he already goes through with the fact that his father is also John. I told him that he could name our son whatever he wanted, as long as he did not name him after himself. I told him that if he found a name he liked, to run with it!

Well, last Friday a co-worker of mine and I were having a discussion and she was telling me about her sons. She told me thier names were Lucas and Matthew. Of course, after all these months, today my husband calls me and tells me he wants to name our son Lucas, that the name just came to him and he loves it. I love the name as well but now I feel extremely awkward because I don't want my co-worker to think I stole the name from her after she only told me days ago what her sons name was.

I know that it should be flattering, but I know if I told someone my sons name was Lucas and then they went and names thier son Lucas I would feel a little weird. I don't know! Should I feel awkward about this, or I am I over reacting?

  • Leo or Leonardo for my son's name?

My hubby and I both love the name Leo. However; we wonder if this name would be too short to give our son. His middle name is going to be John (no compromise on that) which is short as well. Do we do Leo John or Leonardo John? We're Italian, and I for one definitely like longer names, but either way we would be calling him Leo. I just wonder if giving him the longer name will benefit him in the long run or sound better formally. Thanks for any suggestions! :)

  • What do you think of this name (and nickname) for my son?

I'm seriously considering the name Roman for my son. His middle name would be John after his daddy and I feel like it would be so cute to call him R.J.! Just looking for opinion, but please nothing mean... :) THANKS!

  • Movement has felt the same for 4 weeks?!?!?

I first felt my baby move at 18w1d. However; I am now 22 weeks and over the past month, all the movement has felt exactly the same. Even thought I've had more movement as time went on, the movement hasn't gotten any stronger. When will I feel actual kicks? Also, my husband feels terrible because its been a month of me feeling the baby kick, and he can't feel anything. He keeps asking when he will be able to feel it and I feel like I just keep saying "oh probably another week..." Advice please?!?!

  • What are some low-cost SUV's? Need advice from other MOMS!?

My husband and I (expecting in September) are looking to re-finance my Honda Civic for an SUV, however; we don't want to have to spend too much money. We're definitely open to purchasing a used vehicle. What are some SUV's that are already on the lower cost end that we could look into?

    Thanks!!

  • How can I sell my husband on the name Gabriel?

okay, so you probably just all saw my question about the name Julien. I'm not totally sold on it but its the only one hubby and I have remotely agreed upon. I do LOVE the name Gabriel but hubby has been saying NO WAY. I just feel like that's my little boy's name. I really feel like Gabriel is it. I have been trying to put it our of my mind because my husband has said NO NO NO right from the start but I cant stop thinking that THIS is his name and if I don't give him this name I will regret it. How can I sell my husband on this name I feel is so perfect?

  • What do you think of the name Julian for a boy?

My fiance and I love "J" names. Out of all the names I picked, the only one he really likes is Julian. His name is John and we didn't want a junior so we are leaning towards Julian John. I started out loving the name--I picked it. And I love that John Lennon named his son Julian so I feel like the name has a good history to it. Part of me just feels not so completely sold on it anymore. I'm just wondering what your opinions are of the name Julian.
