Leo or Leonardo for my son's name?
My hubby and I both love the name Leo. However; we wonder if this name would be too short to give our son. His middle name is going to be John (no compromise on that) which is short as well. Do we do Leo John or Leonardo John? We're Italian, and I for one definitely like longer names, but either way we would be calling him Leo. I just wonder if giving him the longer name will benefit him in the long run or sound better formally. Thanks for any suggestions! :)

I actually find myself in the same stituation... i am of Italian descent so we are thinkning of giving our child and Italian name!
We really love the name Leonardo too and i think that leo is a lovely shortened name,.. Leonardo is such a handsome, strong yet not old-fashioned name and i think its soo lovely! You should definately go for Leonardo as a full name and Leo or Leon (prefer Leo though) as a nickname for him. I also think that Leonardo John sounds better and flows better than Leo John..however they do both sound really gorgeous!!
good luck

I think Leonardo is so nice. Go w/it and then you can call him Leo as you say you'd like to do. Leonardo is very "continental" sounding and masculine.
