What do you think of this name (and nickname) for my son?

I think Roman is a good name for your son. It isn't too off the wall yet isn't too trendy. It'll take him into his adult years nicely. John is a good solid middle name and meaningful since it is his father's name. R.J. as a nickname is fine. I used to watch a soap opera (Days of Our Lives, maybe?) that had a character named Roman in it. I always thought it sounded very strong and masculine plus the character with that name was strong and masculine as well. I would definitely consider Roman John to be a good contender for your son's name. I just remembered that we used to have a family in our church who took in a nephew due to some home trouble. The nephew's name was Roman. He was a very nice young man.

I agree that personally I like Rowan too, but Roman is a reasonable name. RJ is cute, and Roman John is still a good name for an adult for the times when he needs or wants to be more serious than being RJ. Good luck.

Mmm not bad, however i would pick RoNan over RoMan. Roman is like calling someone an Egyptian with the big golden head drape thingy! Like when someone says 'Roman Warrior' you get an image in your head, i think of that Roman Warrior when i hear the name Roman.

I do like Roman John / RJ though. But personally i'd name my son Ronan John / RJ

i like the name Roman, for some reason Roman John doesn't really fit right to me. but just because some one else doesn't like it doesnt mean u should change it! good luck!

Aww Roman is a really cute name. Ronan is even cuter. Maybe you can call him Ronny but RJ sounds gangster-ish. His friends can call him that when he's older but as a young boy I think Ronan and Ronny is really cute.

Yeah, i personally like it. But you know how everything is different these days, and especially when he grows up it will be way more modern. And he might not like his name. Just a thought. Its very unique tho :)

NO!, not Roman trust me no kid wants the name Roman. You should consider Richard or Thomas, then you could call him TJ, or name him Peter Bronson John (Last Name). Then his initials would be PBJ and you could call him peanut butter and jelly. Peace Out!
