  • Does a restraining order show up on a back round check?

I am on SitterCity.com as a potential nanny. My mom recently put a restraining order claiming I hit her... I am being dead honest when I say I am the innocent person in this situation and am pretty much wrongly accused of it but sadly the judge found her in favor; because what mother would do this to her daughter?

Any way, figures when I finally get a chance to work some where, they want to buy my back round check... so will this restraining order show up?

  • what can she do about what happened this morning?

I am having a hard time rite now... any way, my mom n i had a fall out well over a month ago. the way the house is set up is like a duplex, i have one side n she has the other. because i am under 22, me n my children are on her food stamps ( dont question why) so she has been spending my portion n we don't have access to the food she buys. so this morning i got the guts to confront her. she was leaving for work so i put my foot near her car so she could not move it and asked for the card. she said no but after a lengthy argument she gave it to me. she spent my portion last month but has yet to spend anything this month.

about an hour later the police show up on my door because she said i hit her. i never hit her. i told the police the situation and they said they needed to cal DCF since i have no access to food... i was devastated but i understand y they'd do it. my son eats fine and my daughter is breastfed and i piled up on formula in case i needed it. so far i havent needed it though. i am just the one not eating. my son just eats stuff i cant stomach... dry cereal, instant breakfasts, canned foods/vegetables, bananas, but ill eat all the veggies n fruit i serve. i have been trying to move but have gotten no where because i cannot find work. im not a bum either i worked 3-4 jobs a DAY while pregnant.

anyway, she hasnt come home from work yet so i have a feeling she is at the courts. what can she do? i never hit her, she is my mom of course i wouldnt.. but if she tries to get me out i have NO WHERE to go n no money to go any where. what can i do about the fact she is depriving me of food and stuff?

  • I have a food stamps question..?

    Please don't judge me...

I am renting from my mom, she's got almost like a duplex type of house. Since I am only 21 I need to be on her food stamps, so me and my son get at least $200/mo on there. I landed on some really hard times, when I agreed to go on I was pregnant and had been working 3-4 jobs a day and all of a sudden I lost each one within three months. I just said that so u don't think I am a bum!

Any way, me and my mom got in a fight last month and it is not settling down and honestly she just keeps making it worse by scaring my kids and constantly tryna fight with me and she gets aggravated I don't really put much effort into trying to fight with her. So I have the foodstamps card and today money was put on the card. I am scared to give the card to my mom. For one, I am afraid I won't get it back and two she gave out our card last month and that person spent a large amount of money on the card and I went at least two weeks scrambling for food for me and my son (daughter is breastfed)

I can't get my own because of my age and where I am living, obviously I am trying to move because the living situation is awful. My mom is literally harrassing me every chance she gets. What would happen if I told them I wanted a separate card and the reasons for wanting one?? Would she get into trouble :-/? Or will they just divide our stuff up??

  • This is LONG but I need opinions and answers about my renting situation?

I am posting here because I get the most responses, sorry!

My mom has a VERY big house that she split in two and is now like a duplex. On July 7th I moved back in because my brother wasn't paying his rent, so I took over the worse of the two sides and gave her $1100 when I moved in. When I moved in I was crammed with all my stuff in the living room until my brother could move out and my mom could move to his side. It was like this until at least August. I don't think that month I should have owed any rent because the situation was awful.

When I moved in I was almost 8 months pregnant. My mom said I could pay $500/mo til after I had the baby and got a new job. So what we did is we put the $1100 toward future rent, plus from July 7th til the end of August I gave her $100-$200/wk so that I'd be ahead and not miss any rent.

We got into a fight almost 2 weeks ago because she did something EXTREMELY stupid and started a huge fite, it feels like she meant to. Since then I have stayed on my side, locking my doors like I have always done. I applied for assistance because I needed childcare in order to start my job. Well she needed to write how much my rent was and she wrote $0/mo. She is now complaining I can't lock my doors (my little brother is always stealing from me, so even when we did get along I locked my doors and she never came over here) and if I do then she will take the lock off of the door that leads to her side. Now FYI she is not saying this stuff to me because we have not spoken, she's telling my sister.

Any way I am more then caught up on rent from all the money that I have given her from the time I moved in til I had my daughter in September. Last night I went to my college class and my sister came on my sde to watch the kids. While I was gone my mom burst into my side and started taking stuff, granted her stuff but stuff she took, she only took because she saw I was using them. I don't care because they were hers but my sister called me all shaken up and saying the kids were so frightened and screaming and crying because of it.

First of all, doesn't she need to give me 24hours notice? I know this sounds petty because we are family but I feel as though she needs to let things cool down rather than act like this. Any way, she is screaming about rent but do i really owe her if:

-my shower/bath tub only has EXTREMELY hot water, I have to fill a bath then run up and down the stairs with buckets of cold water to bathe the kids and myself.

    -my toilet is now broken

-when i moved in the bathroom was very dirty and disgusting like it hadnt been cleaned in months, the bathroom had no water. after she got the water fixed i had to clean it.

-we went two weeks with absolutely NO water in the whole house

-my fridge broke, she let it sit there for almost a month and i cud just not take the smell any more so by MYSELF i brought it outside and then paid to get rid of it after it just sat there (Now I have no fridge)

-there is a leak in my bedroom right over my bed. I can not move my bed because of the way the room is set up. So whenever it rains I sleep on my son's floor and lift my mattress up and push it to a wall. This leak was here when i lived here almost a year ago

-it is freezing here and ALL the window have huge pieces of glass missing (in my room and living room)

-She also has a bunch of her stuff in my spare bedroom, which she tore the ceiling down in so I am sure it is making my side even colder.

Any way, if she was a regular landlord, would i have to pay rent because of those problems? Remember I am already caught up, she is just being stupid. Also what about the 24 hour thing?

  • What kind of daycare do u get when u are on assistance?

I signed up for assistance and started receiving money yesterday. Please don't judge, I am actually one of those people that actually needed this, it is definitely going to help turn things around for me and it took a lot of courage for me to even apply.

I haven't gotten a letter from them yet and if I tried asking a question while I was there the people acted aggravated I needed to even question anything, so not much more then money talk was told to me. But I said I plan on starting to work within the next month but nothing more then childcare will start immediately was what was explained to me.

Any one know what KIND of childcare you get? Like is a private home daycare okay or an actual daycare? Can you hire a babysitter? I thought my mom would be watching my kids but I had a falling out with her now she won't and I already spent a lot of cloth diapers, so it's gonna suck if I can't cloth diaper while in day care :-(

  • Are these real contractions or still just cramps?

My water broke about 3-4 hours ago. Really bad cramps are coming every 6-7 minutes. They are painful, pretty painful. But they don't feel like tightening like every one says. Just feels like really bad period cramps. I kinda have to stop what I am doing to find some thing else to do to get thru them... Like stand up or something..

  • Timber Blair vs Aubrielle Aurora?

I have LOVED the name Aubrielle Aurora but feel weird about using the name since I am having a child by sum1 else... I was going to originally name my son that if he had been a girl, so it was like me n his dad's name even though I picked it. And I just like the name Timber Blair. Blair is my sister's middle name and she isn't doing too well right now. I have a brother named Timmy that isn't doing too great either. Thought it was just a great mix but every one seems to hate Timber..

  • My water broke, no one is really awake to answer my questions?

I called my midwife who said to wait it out until morning. Well I tried sleeping and slept for a little less then 2 hours before the contractions... well 'cramps' woke me up. That is still what they feel like, really bad cramps. I was getting worried so was restlessly sleeping because I wasn't keeping times on them, but now that I am awake they are definitely still inconsistent. They were very painful in my half daze too but seem to lighten up a bit when I got up.

I am leaking thru like everything! I just went to the bathroom and there was blood on the towel I was using. Normal? Nothing to worry about right??

  • i was due today, my hips are killing me. is this normal?

I am in pain when I walk. I can't ignore it but it isn't like horrible pain, just a bad pain. Today is my due date and I am hoping for a VBAC. When I am sitting I feel fine. I get up and I need a moment to start moving. While I am moving there's like pain that is even lower then my stomach, like my joints I guess. I am sure it is normal, I just wanted to double check. I have felt achey and crampy for the past few weeks now but last few days have been feeling good up until now :-/

  • Do babies usually 'drop'?

I remember my son dropped, I am 39w5d pregnant now. She doesn't seem low at all. But then I heard not all babies drop? Or if they do then when would they usually drop?

  • Could you picture your baby while you were pregnant?

I am due with a little girl on Friday. I still can't believe it. I am ready to meet her but I still don't feel like this is real. With my son, I could completely picture everything about him, and he is some what just what I expected. I just can not PICTURE her. Any one else feel like that while pregnant?

  • what can i do to make baby move?

im 39w4d. i noticed baby hasn't moved much today. She made a slight but very tiny movement maybe an hour ago... anything I can do to see if she will move to let me know she is okay? I have also been feeling extreme pressure for the last one and a half...

  • If the baby is breech or head down, where would I feel movement?

My son was breech all through my pregnancy, i am pretty sure I felt most of the movement lower in my tummy. Now I am 39w4d pregnant (second baby) and i can feel her really low in my tummy, kinda on my side also and yesterday she had hiccups that shook my belly when usually her hiccups don't. At night her body becomes more prominent and her body just seemed different. Like on my upper left side i felt what i thought was her back and the roundness to my right didnt feel as hard as her bum has been feeling, when i pushed on it her body didnt move... if i pushed on her back then that moved... i am hoping for a VBAC so sooo nervous she changed positions :-/

  • Just wondering if any one on here would like to participate in a survey I need to do for sociology class?

I have to come up with a hypothesis/question for my sociology class and then make a survey on it, in order to further the research. The question I have chosen is:

What is the most common reason for mothers to give up breastfeeding before their child(ren) are a year old?

Any one can do this survey. If you managed to only breastfeed once or even longer then a year. I am not finished with the survey. So if you can just answer this saying you'll take it and leave your email or email me at holidaeshawty@aol.com. THANKS!

  • Just a curios question about loose stools before going into labor?

I am not having loose stools or anything but I was just curious about people that start emptying their bowels... do you usually do that after labor started or is it a symptom for before labor starts?
