Ladies: what would you do if someone thought you were pregnant when you're not?

Specifically I was wondering what women would do/react and feel if someone offered them a seat on a crowded bus, and then they realized that the other person offered because they thought you were pregnant when you aren't?

How would you know WHY exactly they offer you a seat? Men should do it just because you are a lady and they are gentlemen. If you are older, kids should do it because this is the "street etiquette", out of politeness. You may have looked pale or sick to someone and they did it.You might have had lots of luggage and they did it to make it easier for you, or even for themselves, it is far more easier to stay in the crowd without someone with a million bags. It is much different if you have some body fat in excess and if you re ppregnant, so if a person mistakes that, they must be a bit ignorant, I would just thank them and say I am not pregnant.

  • I probably wouldn't think that they offered me a seat because they thought I was pregnant. I don't have a huge belly, even if I am overweight. My vanity simply wouldn't let me believe it.

Now if someone said something, I'd laugh it off and say something like, "Oh, it's because I'm glowing, right?" in order to spare them the embarrassment of finding out that I'm not pregnant, I'm just fat.

I got made fun of for my weight so much in elementary and middle school that stuff like that doesn't bother me. I learned to laugh it off then, and I still do now. It just rolls off my back.

Well if someone thought i was pregnant I would take that as a reality check and immediately go to the gym and put myself on a diet.

I know you said ladies but I did this once before and I felt terrible.

It was someone I had known for a while and one day I saw her sitting on a stool at a restaurant. I said 'oh, congratulations, she said 'for what?'.

I said when are you due?

Now I should have known, when she said for what, that I should just stop right there. But nooo. I am such an idiot

Source(s): Turns out she has some kind of stomach problem that makes her look prego.

Maybe they just offered because you're a lady.

I would be touched by an action so chivalrous.

I would take that as a sign that I need to work out.

In that case, I probably wouldn't say anything, but that doesn't happen as much as it used to. Never ask a woman when she's due, just in case she isn't. No matter how certain you are she is.

I'd drop a water-bottle down my legs, begin to pant and scream and then I'd yell, "Call a midwife!!!"

    ...

Or I'd say, "Being a cannibal has its advantages."

Source(s): The cannibal bit means I ate a fat person earlier and now I'm being given a seat. I might just take the seat...
