Guinea pig treats for a hamster?

your fine. hamsters can have a little citrus and it won't hurt them. like strawberries. Too much will though! I think the hamster can eat a guinea pig treat because hamsters and guinea pigs are similar animals.

It is fine for hamsters to eat guinea pig treats, though it would be a good idea to give smaller portions. Both have similar dietary needs and are unable to eat similar things so your hamster certainly won't die from eating gp treats. The worst that can happen is that it could get chubby in the long run from eating too many treats. If you look closely at many rodent (hamster, guinea pig...) treats and even some bird treats, the actual product is the same but it has been marketed toward different animals to make more money for the producer.

I can't think of any reason why they would be bad for a hamster. But they were made for guinea pigs, not hamsters. If they were safe for both to have, it would probably say so on the package. I would recommend taking them back if you haven't opened them and getting a hamster treat. If you have already opened them and really want to use them, maybe cut it in half or something before you give it to them.

its fine they wont make a treat that is fine for a ginny pig that will kill a hampster i have had like 5 hampsters and i have a bunny just if u feel unsafe give the hampster PEANUTS they love them or cheerios
