the new Star Trek movie have a ton of inconsistances will it drive you away from the movie?

The examples of screw ups are 1 Capt. Kirks dad died from Kodos the executioner not on a star ship so did his mom. The Romulans were never seen until Capt. Kirks crew fought them in the original series. The Enterprise design is totally out of whack with the enterprise that is yet to come in the series but has the same hull number. Capt. Kirk didn't serve on the enterprise as a ensign but on the USS Republic. The list just goes on. For non Trekkie's these are minor details but for the rest of the Trekkie crowd I am wondering is this going to kill the movie for them?

If I've read the reviews, etc. correctly, Star Trek (the movie) is not trying to change the Star Trek franchise history.

The storyline is based upon the idea that a Romulan is attempting to change history.  Apparently the older Spock (or Spock Prime according to IMDB), played by Leonard Nimoy is trying to correct the time line.

So, it's likely that at the end of the movie that timelines will realign with a trumpeting of technobabble.

It'll probably drive away the hardcore Trekkies depending on if they see it as an imperfect remake/revitalization or if they see it as pure cannon to the show, if they think it's 100% cannon they will be driven away but not if they just want to see a modernization of star trek

im not so worried about story line because it just looks cool.

But Im worried that the bridge is too bright. They have lights everywhere where as every bridge except that was darkened.

it looks like a damn apple store.
