Digital painting (realistic) help?

um... It's hard XD

Skin. I need help with skin- I don't understand how I'm supposed to do it O_O

( I understand that the hair looks even worse then crap, but I had given up at that point)

I think the eyes came out very well, but other then that- blah!

Anyone have tips for painting skin? cause it did not come out right...

    I think it depends on what you are introduced/used to doing first. Individuals who are more comfortable at doing realistic pencil drawings usually have a hard time doing a realistic digital painting and vice versa. Of course there are always exceptions. Then again, pencil drawings differ from digital painting entirely bc for one, pencil drawings do not require any knowledge of color/color theory. Pencil drawings are usually less difficult because people pick up a pencil first to draw so they are more comfortable in using them. Using a tablet takes time in getting used to. However, through experience you will get the hang of it & maybe even find it to be much easier since it has undo/redo button, layers, etc. For me, I find both to have the same difficulty when drawing realistic or non realistic.. I enjoy using both methods in drawing. But you can experiment a lot when using digital. In general, doing any realistic paintings or drawings (whether digital or not) is difficult to do.

    Looks nice! Try adding more yellows and oranges to the skin. Google images of people's faces and notice how many different colors occur and try to add some of that variation to your painting.
