Where I'm from, Rowan is a very popular name for a girl so I think it's odd for a boy. I like the suggestion of Roman Alexander much better. It's so much more masculine and I really doubt he'll ever be embarrassed due to running into a girl that shares the name Roman! :)
It flows nice though.

Gorgeous! A friend of my mum had a boy called Rowan William a couple of years ago. We very briefly did think it seemed like an older name, but actually its completely grown on both of us. Now i love it! This boy gets called Row for short sometimes which i think is so cute.
Alexander flows perfectly.

It's nice but I think Alexander Rowan flows and sounds better.

I love Alexander but not so keen on Rowan. I personally prefer Ryan. If you love the name then I think you should go with it though :)
