Mozilla Firefox navigation bar to operate like IE6 address bar?

Hi all,

I've recently installed Mozilla Firefox to have a bit of a play around with it instead of using IE6 or IE7. The great thing about using IE6 is that for all of my favourites to google or altavista etc. I add them as favourites and name the favourite as just the first letter. For example I add google to favourites but call it 'g' and I add altavista to favourites and call it 'a'. The advantage of this is that I can click on the address bar, type in a letter and press enter and it brings up my websites saving me a heap of time.

I know that Firefox has quite a good navigation bar however whenever I add a one letter bookmark and attempt to type the letter in the navigation bar, it just goes to google and displays search results for that letter.

Does anyone know if there is any way to get Firefox to behave the same way as IE6?

Many thanks,

Andrew
