Good music, good videos?

I'm looking for some good music, any genre, with strong lyrics (not too simple, not too repetitive, not too abstract or oblique or mysterious), with or without an interesting video. I want something that could serve as a basis for classroom discussion on any topic. I'm looking for either an awesome song with a simple video, an awesome video with a simple song, or best yet, an awesome song with an awesome video. I've already looked at the MTV and VH1 "best videos" list and most just don't do it for me: though I did choose REM's "Everybody Hurts" as having a strong message in the lyrics and an interesting video. Ideas?

"I Will Possess Your Heart" by Death Cab for Cutie

No video, but it's about him stalking a girl. One part he even says that he can see his reflection in her window as he walks by. It's on the Narrow Stairs album, and there is the longer, extended version (has a very long intro) or towards the end of the cd, there is the abbreviated version.

I don't know exactly what you want to talk about in class, but this could definitely lead to discussions.

EDIT: oh, and their song "Transatlanticism" is really good as well. It may be my favorite of theirs.....

Source(s): bio teacher, too bad they don't really makes songs about mitosis...... :)

You didn't say what age the people in class are so I am assuming there are no restrictions on type of music. Check this on out...http://www.videocodezone.com/videos/p/papa_roach/l...

You can always discuss today's youth with this video.Good luck.

A good song would be Welcome Home by Coheed and Cambria if you are looking for strong lyrics. All of their songs tell a story.

Also if you like satirical lyrics The Pink Spiders are all about sarcasm. Modern Swinger is a good one.
