Why doesn't God do a "State of the Universe" speech every year kind of like the President?

Update:

I think it would be very informative.

Yes, you expect a guy that apparently stopped talking to us over 2000 years ago to hold a State of the Universe speech every year.

"And in the Milky Way Galaxy, I have created another 10^1000000 tons of dark matter and given it a slight spin. That should bollix up a few astronomical observations and keep the astronomers guessing..."

"I revised the gravitational constant in Universe No4. It is now in a contraction phase and should gnab gib in another 15 billion years..."

"I have sent my last message to sentient species. it is written in 100 foot letters of fire and reads: "We apologize for the inconvenience.""

Well because God has already proven what he has to prove a LONNNG time ago and he sent down his books for true believers to follow. He sent down his messengers to bring and deliver the true meaning of faith. In these books, it contains scientific facts AND prophecies that come true. So God does not need to make a speech every year. That is the test of faith. He wants to see if people will believe in him; even in the roughest times!...So always stay true to believing in God and never back down from defending him and his messengers.

He gave one 2000 years ago we call the Sermon on the Mount. Unlike presidential speeches, this one was so good, it still applies.

Each year the Bahá'í world receives a wonderful gift at Ridván. That gift is a message from the Universal House of Justice, the Supreme Body of Bahá'u'lláh's new World Order, the "source of all good" that is "freed from all error."

Upon receiving this gift we admire its beauty and hungrily take our portion from the spiritual sustenance it contains. We find within the letter pearls of wisdom and guidance that we can apply to the challenges and opportunities facing us in our various arenas of service. The guidance of the Universal House of Justice offers us encouragement in our successes, advice for improving our weaknesses, and directives for undertaking what lies ahead. We study the letter for such advice, and strive the best we can to implement its guidance.

There is another level from which we might view any letter we receive from the Universal House of Justice. Rather than seeing the letter as an isolated message, we can consider it a part of a continuous flow of guidance that comes from the Supreme Body. In this light, a letter provides an orientation to the Bahá'í world of its challenges and opportunities in relation to the accomplishments of the past and with a vision of the future. Major themes raised in a previous letter are explored anew, examined in more detail, and eventually summarized and concluded. The reader begins to see the sweep of history in which the Faith overcomes obstacles and achieves new levels in its organic growth. The seed planted by the Universal House of Justice in one message is carefully watered by guidance in subsequent messages until it finally bears fruit. The world community is able to see how its efforts to follow the instructions of the House of Justice provide the victories of future years — often in ways that could not be envisioned at the start.

    Ridván 140 B. E. (Ridván 1983)

To the Bahá'ís of the World

    Dearly-loved Friends,

The observable acceleration, during the past decade, of the two processes described by our beloved Guardian, the disintegration of the old order and the progress and consolidation of the new World Order of Bahá'u'lláh, may well come to be regarded by future historians as one of the most remarkable features of this period. The recent increase in this very acceleration is even more remarkable. Both within and without the Cause of God, powerful forces are operating to bring to a climax the twin tendencies of this portentous century. Among the many evidences which reveal this process may be cited, on the one hand, the continual increase of lawlessness, terrorism, economic confusion, immorality and the growing danger from the proliferation of weapons of destruction, and on the other, the world-wide, divinely propelled expansion, consolidation and rapid emergence into the limelight of world affairs of the Cause itself, a process crowned by the wonderful efflorescence of Mount Carmel, the mountain of God, whose Divine springtime is now so magnificently burgeoning.

During the past five years, the historical dialectic of triumph and disaster has operated simultaneously within the Cause of God. The Army of Light has sustained the loss of six Hands of the Cause and waves of bitter persecution which have again engulfed the long-suffering community in Iran, and have resulted in the razing of the House of the Báb, the demolition of Bahá'u'lláh's ancestral home in Takur, and the martyrdom of scores of valiant souls. Yet these disasters have called forth fresh energies in the hearts of the friends,

have fed the deep roots of the Cause and given rise to a great harvest of signal victories. Chief among these are the successful conclusion of the Five Year Plan; the launching of the Seven Year Plan, now in the final year of its second phase and unprecedented proclamation of the Faith to Heads of States, parliaments and parliamentarians, government ministers and officials, leaders of thought and people prominent in the professions, resulting in a change of attitude on the part of the mass media, which now increasingly approach us for information about the Cause.

To these movements must be added ...
