Is my lip piercing infected?

I got my lip pierced by a friend a little more than a month ago. Everything was fine, I use sea salt water on the outside and inside every night and rinse with Listerine everytime I eat or drink something that isn't water. After a month, I switched the jewelry from a starter labret to a half hoop, but my piercing started to act funny. The outside looks perfectly normal, no redness, no swelling. The inside doesn't puss or anything but it's got this little bump on the side of the hole. Is it an infection or what? How do I take care of it? I don't want to take my lip ring out.

Update:

A) My friend has a piercing license, stop telling me I should've got it done "professionally" because I did, just not in a piercing shop.

B) I'm not doing anything wrong, because I asked professionals here about what to do when I bought the labrets.

C) Yeah, it's worth it.

The lip evidently swells up a reliable bit throughout the 1st week to week and a a million/2, and because you have gotten the two carried out on an identical time, the swelling ought to be somewhat worse than getting merely one. As for the bruise, some human beings merely bruise somewhat, even though it may be no longer something to get worked up over. an infection, however? I somewhat have a feeling that it is not. You point out that it is not liquid. Does it appear like white/clearish skin comparable on your inner lip? if so, it somewhat is greater advantageous than possibly the fistula, the unquestionably healed/therapeutic hollow, attempting to kind. What did you get pierced with - a labret stud or ring? i spotted greater of the white skin and inflammation once I used a hoop, even though it somewhat is diverse for all of us. despite you do, however, do no longer take the jewellery out. no remember if it is contaminated, you do no longer want an abscess forming because of it having nowhere to empty. I propose occurring your piercer to have it appeared at contained in here few days if it does not get from now on suited. they oftentimes understand what they're talking approximately.

Could you be allergic to the loop you choose.. Some metals will give you a infection.. Rinse it with hydrogen peroxide..Don't swallow any of it but just rinse it with it and use a cotton ball...Sounds like that is what it is..If it continues and the knot behind it gets worse or starts to have puss in it seek a docs help right away for an antibiotic.. Just be careful and it may just be that you need a different hoop.. Good Luck!

Yep, listen to the other kid that can't spell or have anymore common sense than you.

Since you had a "Friend" rather than a professional do the piercing, maybe you should consider seeing and asking a real doctor about this.

Or get infected with a tumor and die. Did you learn anything from having an amateur do something a professional should have done?

depending on wut the bump looks like but it sounds like to me is a keloid. Which can be taken care of by crushing up aspirin and mixing a little bit of water with it, not a lot but a little bit enough to make a paste, and put it on it twice a day and what that will do is dry it up and it will go down..And no you dont have to take it out, just make sure you keep cleaning it and make that paste, and everything will be good

it may just be an allergic reaction.

the same thing happened to me when i changed my ring.

i cut the bump off (which didn't hurt at all), but it kept growing back.

so i cut it off for the last time and i took the ring out and put in a retainer and it never came back.

so take the ring out b/c you might be allergic to it and put in a real one.

GET PIERCINGS DONE PROFESSIONALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOT BY FRIENDS. its a dumbass idea.

My lip piercing did that, you need like anti bac **** to clean it with and just make sure you keep an eye on it.

If it carries on go to a PROFESSIONAL and see what he/she thinks
