old gospel song an old man isn't allowed to sing in the church choir he finds a choir that will let him sing?

I don't know the name of it but my mother played it all the time. I can't ask her b/c she passed away in January. But basicially he wants to sing and shout in the church doesn't allow that type of thing, and one morning they notice the old man isn't sitting there. A voice rings out from heaven I found a choir that will let me sing. It may be one of the those type where the pastor/reverend preaches and sings, but I believe a male sings the song. I love old gospel Shirley Caeser is my favorite, I love faded rose, I remember Mama, and Don't drive your moma away, no charge. My absolute favorite song is I'm still holding on to his hand, it not a caesar but it soothes my soul. ps. My moma loved hold my mule and who in the hell left the gate open.... God Bless you all

The song is similar to Hold My Mule. The old man wants to sing and shout in church, But the church tells him they don't allow that kind of stuff. The old man keeps coming back. To make a long story short the old man dies and joins the choir in heaven. The hook is I found a choir that will let me sing.

I think "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" by Poison The choir I was once in (that has been around since before I was born) did a concert once with songs from the Fablous 50's & 60's, The Beach Boys Medley, Close to You, Rhythm of Life, etc. It was awesome. Just seen your post. If you are still looking for it, It s called Please Let me sing in the choir. It s on You tube. I know this song well. The old man s name is Jesse in the sounds and it tells a story for over 34 years he tried out at church for the choir yet he was never aloud to join.  Wonderful song. In the end he was in the greatest choir of all Heaven s choir.  May this song bless everyone and another song to add to your list  try God will make this trial a blessing.
