No child left behind?

I am not trying to make anyone mad about this but I don't understand. This is my situation, my son is in 9th grade honors english, advanced math, and bio 2. He is ranked #9 in his class and I am very proud. But my problem is that 3 of the kids ranked higher than him are in the Learning disabled classes. I really don't agree with this and wonder what your view is?

Update:

Like I said I am very proud of my son, and I know children with LD excel everyday, I just don't understand the NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND, concept, my kids can get on a website that tells them where they are ranked.

I don't see the connections between learning disabled, ranking and the No Child Left Behind Act./

It could be that the three learning disabled children received high grades due to their effort rather than their achievement or that they received much easier work in each subject.

Things would be much better for all if all this ranking and competition was ended all together. From the first day of school this is drummed down their throats. The world would be better off if a sense of cooperation and mutual respect was drummed down children's throats. It would spare many the constant struggle because they don't feel good enough. Bask in your child's accomplishments and don't dwell on what others do. Side note, just because they are learning disabled does not mean they can't excel.
