Ive lost all respect for Ovechkin?

I can't believe some of these people couldn't see that the hit was blatant. When you stick your knee out to hit another player low......sorry that's a cheap shot. The hit happened so fast that the officials couldn't see it that well. I'm fine with the 2 minute minor. However, the league needs to review the hit and OVECHKIN SHOULD BE SUSPENDED for a game, at the very least. It has had a profound effect on the powerplay for Pittsburgh.

I agree 100%. That was a dirty play by one of league's best players, a cheap shot I should say. The NHL will look at this and suspended Oveckhin for Game 5 or possibly, Games 6 and 7.

One, it should not be a suspension, at the most a 5 minute major, and two, who can blame him, Gonchar has been out there most of the time he has been and Gonchar was shutting him down a little bit. It was one way to get him off the ice when Ovechkin was on and it worked. Plus, they were both going at the puck, stop complaining it was not intentional. If you want to see intentional look up some Malkin stuff. IF he is out for the rest of the series, that is a huge loss.

It was an intentional knee and it was dirty and only the Cromag knows if he had intent to injure.

Right, says the guy with a Penguins user name. It was clean, they were both going for the puck it was accidental. I feel bad seeing Gonchar go down injured, but it was accidental. Their was no way you can say that was "blatantly intentional", because it clearly wasn't. I think losing respect for him is over-doing it a little. I mean, I've seen Malkin do more dirty stuff INTENTIONALLY. Slew Foots and an Elbow to the head.

Ovie is a cheap shot artist and a diver. And the caps coach is a big whiner.

Ovie is an arrogant punk. i definately agree! Sid is not only the best player in the NHL, but he is also a very humble, nice man! GO PENS!!!

THATS NOT INTENTIONAL! he clearly was trying to get the shoulder into gonch NOT THE KNEE ovie doesnt do that, he doesnt wanna hurt his fellow countrymen. I would say if he was sticking his knee it yes it would be dirty but he wasnt. No i watched the replay and i defintely didnt see ovi'e leg come out like you usually see when the knee on knee contact is intentional. Trust me I know ovie he was not trying to hurt Gonch that is not who he is.

Unoffcial code? what since when is there an unofficila code against going after alternate captains? People have gone after ovie before. Besides if the situation were reversed and it was somebody hitting ovie the pens fans would be arguing in favor the the pens guy and be booing ovie for getting hurt like they booed feds during game 3 even tho he was clearly writhing in pain. Gonch was already hurt to begin with.
