They may get along, anything is possible. Having a large enough tank that the weaker one can escape if there is bullying certainly would reduce the risks, But it is more likely than not that there will be some bullying.

Angels are best in groups of one or 6+ as they form "pecking orders" and with just two in the tank chances are that the weaker of the pair will get bullied too much.

You may be lucky enough to get a mating pair.

If you want two angelfish you can try to find a store that has a pair of them that they will sell. Angelfish have the same mate for life. It might be more expensive but they would for sure get along.

Yes ! 3 or more is better. To keep 2 you should have a 55 gal. They might pick on each other that's why more is better. In the wild they like to be in groups.

yes. you can have multiple angelfish in the same tank. they will peacefully co-exist.

what you CAN NOT do is have two or more Siamese fighting fish (Betta or Beta...i'm not positive of which spelling is correct) in the same tank...they WILL kill each other.

  • Yes, fresh water angels and most marine angels all get along with their same species.
