Not if cheating is the Norm of the Society...maybe this could be another take on 'When in Rome do as Romans do'...

This doesn't sound good! Too animalistic...

Yep. Two wrongs do not make a right, as they say, and 100 wrongs don't either.

If there is a rule and you are breaking or avoiding it, you are cheating by definition, regardless of what any (or every) one else is doing. Cheating is defined by the action and intent, not the context.

Is breathing still breathing if everyone else is breathing? Is watching TV still watching TV if everyone else is watching TV? Is eating still eating if everyone else is eating?

    Yes, yes, yes.

The thing this still the thing regardless of what others do or don't do. It is disingenuous to pretend otherwise just to have an excuse to engage in the behavior you know to be wrong.

I don't think cheating is a really good thing but it is bad. I do cheat but sometimes if it's NEEDED. Unlike my mom, she always tell me to cheat. She's like "Okay so if everyone was cheating during the state test, then why weren't you?" (Because I told her that everyone was cheating and we didn't have a real proctor at that time so the teacher didn't know what was going on so everyone cheated besides me.) 15; Female. :-)

  • Yes. No matter if everyone else is doing it or just you alone, cheating is 'still' cheating.

You can paint it any color, but it is still an act of unfaithfulness.

But, not just to your significant other, but yourself too. You are cheating yourself out of a life you could have, if you were being honest with your 'self'. You are the one who has the most to lose; YOU!

of course it is! but the trick is, some think winning is the name of the game and it never occurs to them to risk not winning by not cheating. So, honestly, you may be cheating yourself and your family, by not

"cheating." Who are you cheating by not winning? The Rockefellers are still some of the most powerful and respected people in the world.

If cheating is the accepted standard, then it is fair to do. Its still cheating, but the meaning of the word is altered to be acceptable.

    Yes.

Everyone has to cheat themselves for everyone else's bluff to work.

No that just means no one is in charge

A good leader would devise a system to use that greed as incentive to achieve a higher quality of competition

If everybody is cheating no one will win understand?

It's cheating when you break the rules. It doesn't matter who else it doing it too.
