What do you think about this deal?

I'm shopping for a new motorcycle and I saw a 07 Cbr600rr for 8600 out the door. I know that the 08 and 07 are the same. I hear that the 09 have less power because of emission or noise reduction. The 09 are about a 1k more so i'm thinking I should go with the 07 because the insurance is a lot cheaper on the older bikes. 4000 vs 1400 for full coverage for the year. I live in Arizona, so tax is like 8%.

The reason I picked the CBR is the handling, I don't care to much about the power because I'm going to be ridding in the city most of the time. So what do you think guys? would you pick it up for 8600. Any feed back would be great.

Update:

The 07 have zero miles on it!

Update 2:

The reason why I pick the 07 over the 09 is the cost of insurance, for an 09 it's 4500 a year and for the 07 it is 1400 a year.

I would definitely take the bike on a test ride, and listen for any odd noises that might clue you in to something wrong. (If you have the knowledge, or know someone who does and can come with you, run a glance over the engine.) Also, if there are any scratches/dents/broken plates, know that there is a reason this may have happened. Are the plates new? Maybe the bike was laid down...

I say all these things, because any issues/past issues can lower the price on the bike itself, and it may raise insurance. And, if there is something wrong with it, when you purchase it, you will probably end up having to fix it all on your own. So listed above is just a few details to be aware of.

However, if the bikes seems to be in good shape, and you like riding it on your test ride, I'd say 8600 is a good price.

Ok... you are going to loose more money on buying a NEW 07 because as soon as you sign the papers.. It is now a USED 07..with the used 07 value... talk to the bank and find out what the value of a USED 07 is... it may not seam like such a good deal. You will probably owe a LOT more money than it is worth unless you have a large down payment

Do yourself a favor and get a used CBR f4i. Because you will pay double $8600 with the insurance costs.

If its decent and in good repair, I would go for the older version. Sounds good from what you described.
