Pantyhose or Knee-Highs Under Pants/Slacks?

I don't know that you can "generally" say for sure - I've known girls who always wore knee-highs and some who preferred to wear pantyhose, as well as some who (for various reasons) might wear either.

For me personally, I don't even own any knee-highs, so if I'm wearing hosiery with pants/slacks it will always be pantyhose.

I wear pantyhose under my slacks and jeans. Normally L'eggs Sheer Energy. The pantyhose cause my pants to glide smoothly over my legs and eliminate chafing. I wear pantyhose without panties, so I don't have a panty line. When it is hot, the pantyhose prevent my pants from sticking to my sweaty legs. I do not wear knee-highs, thigh-highs, or trouser socks because then I would have to wear panties, and that is what the pantyhose replaces.

Generally when I wear slacks and dress shoes I wear trouser socks or knee highs. With certain slacks that are clingy I will wear pantyhose so that i don't have underwear lines.

I know, at least for men, it is support pantyhose under pants. I find support stockings (knee-high ones) to be not a comfy due the knee high rolling down the calf. Support pantyhose stays up much better.

I don't own knee highs, the band on them is uncomfortable around my legs. When I wear pants it's pantyhose, sometimes tights in cold weather.

Personally I wear pantyhose for the most part. I like how pantyhose lift up my butt and smooth everything out under my slacks.
