    Omg, your poor daughter...

Yeah, I would agree with more than half of these people, let her live a bit. Give her trust. I know that if my mother didnt let me get one when I was 17, (or even had that kind of control over me) I would push her SO far away from me.

Your daughter is probably more responsible than you think. She ASKED you at least if it was okay. She's testing your trust & faith in her. Lighten up a bit, and open your eyes- She's not a little girl anymore..She's practically an adult!

A 17 year old can have a facebook if she wants to.

Definitely let her.She is just posting pics, who cares, but facebook can do what ever after with the picture because it's in the guidelines. And they can do pretty nasty things.I would let her, nothing too open though,I wouldn't let others see her profile until they are friends and she knows them.I would also make sure she just uses the letter our last name begins with though.

  • I think 17 is more than old enough to have a facebook page. She's almost a legal adult. Don't be too strict, or you'll just push her away.

  • I'd let her.. but be sure she sets her personal settings to friends only..

possibly check every now and then to make sure she posts 'appropiate' pics of herself.. there are some really shabby slappers out there who post far too suggestive pics and dont set their setting to private and add anyone to their friends list !

In the UK - your daughter is legally old enough to have sex, drive, buy cigarettes - but in your eyes not enough to be on facebook?

If you trusted her this would not be a porblem, if you raised her right - ie, dont post nude pics of yourself in the net, dont meet people off the internet etc - then whats the problem?

17 year olds should be allowed to have a facebook. I think it's fair for her to have one even to use for posting things on her wall.
