Vectors?(struggling for 20 characters..)?

How do you find the direction of a single vector, when you only have it's change in X and change in Y, like the problem i have now says that the changes in x and y are (5,12). I can see that the magnitude of the vector is 13. This is killing me.

I'm not sure I understand your question. A vector IS a unit of direction. The direction of the vector would be (provided this is a position vector) 5i + 12 j. Unless there is something you are not specifying, it's that simple.
