Christians: Isn't trusting God to keep his promises a huge risk given his propensity to destroy humans?
According to his word, God murdered millions during the flood, and slaughtered Egyptian baby boys during the exodus, decimated the Midianites including captive boys and mothers, held the sun in the sky for 24 hours so Joshua could finish off the Hittites, murdered entire populations around Judah, and eventually turned his back on the Jews too because they didn't understand him.
Now he is planning on eternally torturing anyone who doesn't get him.
Does this sound like the kinda guy who would be likely to keep promises?
Isn't it a bit like rooming with a known psychopath, who promises not to harm you if you just be his friend, and trusting that he will keep his promises, even though he is a serial killer?
Maybe Ed F is right.. we should worship God because of his psychosis.

1. The Bible says that before the flood that the whole earth was filled with violence and that mankind's mind was on evil continually.
2.The Hittites were some of the most evil people to ever walk on earth. Archaeological digs have found reliefs of them taking great delight in torturing people.
3. These people were perpetuating by their own choice, their evil to future generations. God the creator said it is enough and put a stop to it.
4. Physical death does not end the eternality of the soul of man. It is not the worst thing that can happen. As Christians we look forward to our eternal peace after physical death.
5. Can we as the creation sit in Judgment over the creator? We do not have his knowledge, power, or wisdom.

But I like rainbows! Especially rainbow stickers on cars, I can wave and nod at the driver - exchange of acknowledgment that we're "family" - hear Sister Sledge singing.... We are family, we are fam....i...ly! The xtians can keep their holiday as long as they stop insisting that theirs is the only celebration of the season and that most of their traditions are original (they aren't). # # # Carrie - it's in reference to the fact that the Christ myth doesn't say when he was born, just that it was a time of the year when lambs were small - that's Spring. The Church hijacked the winter celebrations of the pagans, especially that of Sol Victius - the birth of the SUN from the Roman pagans for their new religion. It was a way that the Church encouraged pagans into the new religion. When that didn't work fast enough for them, they used the sword and torture.

The word of God also clarifies, That God warned the people that a flood would come, and of course they thought it was joke, so theye suffered the consequences. It was Gods will to have egyptian children killed, so that Moses could end up at the pahraohs palace while trying to escape and later free Gods people from slavery and well It was Gods will to stop the sun, so that people could see that he is an all doing God and well God didnt turn his back on the jews, the jews turned their backs on him, WHy argue with Gods perfect will and well his word is a guide so we wont have to burn in hell, We all deserve hell, but hey does a pshychpath provide a way oout of hell, i dont think so, Thats why God sent jesus to die for us, so we could repent and live to do his will, Its our choice wedther we go to heaven in hell, We need to quit blaming God for our mistakes, he warns and yet we decide to continue living in sin, WHy!!!! because we are selffish and refuse to admitt that God is a just God, Yes God is loving but he is also a God of justice, You either live for God or not,

I don't think preferring to Our Heavenly Father is very nice (serial killer). He is not like that. He is a loving tender person with feelings just like us. If we don't obey and go on with our sins we must be punished. Yes He will always keep His promises. He will never lie nor forsake us. He will always be there for us. Yes He did let everything happen to those people but they were considered not one of His nation of Israel. Every time our Heavenly Father does things He always let us know if we not going to do this this will happen. So in the end it is our own choice that let to these things. We must start to listen otherwise we will feel is wrath.

It is too funny, when someone says something like this, mostly because they don't understand a single thing they have read in the Bible. To display such arrogance.....who are YOU to judge God on anything??
Let me ask you, are you able to see the future?? No!! Do you worship the devil?? In some form you probably do, no offense meant here. I say that because you are setting yourself up as a Judge and who are you judging??? God!!! WHo in their right mind would be so bold and arrogant.....to try and do that??? Oh....I see, you don't beleive He created us, right??
Since you have noted these differant groups of people that God destroyed, why don't you continue to read why God chose to destroy them. If you will note, these differant groups were just like the people of Sodom and Gemorrah, wickedly sinfully and an abomination to God. Not for their Ethnic background but because they worshipped Baal and every other Idol other than the One True God!!
I would be very careful here......YOU are Blaspheming the name and character of the "Almighty God". God said in the Bible, " God will NOT be mocked". I don't know about you....but I beleive this!!! DO as wish though, just remember this, YOU will be held accountable for this.
God was yesterday, as He is Today and will be forever more and He does not forget a single thing, Unless you ask for His forgiveness!!

Hi,
God is the creator, therefore the judge. That is : He is the one who judges you, this is not the other way around.
If you had carefully read the Bible you would have read that those judgments you talked about was promised by Him.
So even those judgments show that God is faithful in His promises.
Regards,
Emmanuel

A response to HeMan:
If God decides the day every one will die, then if someone rapes and kills another, that was a decision by god?
If a war kills lots of innocent children, God's decision too.
If someone dies a horrible, painful death through disease, God again?
The obvious arbitrariness and randomness of such acts cannot be the result of a God in control. Christians know that, and in the face of it simply say, "Well God decides"

God takes the life of everyone. God decides the day that everyone will die, some he chooses to take earlier than others....he is the giver of life, and so he alone has the right to take it away.
Life on this earth is just temporary, just a mist of vapor in the big scheme of eternal life. This life is nothing more than a classroom for us to learn in, and being taken out of class earlier than expected is the right of the teacher......

I belive in Creator. But jewish story sounds fake.
