wing chun vs muay thai?

Wing Chun is good but I think Muya Thai is one of the most brutal style of all. My money is on Muay Thai.

Muay thai training methods are much better preparation for a fighter, they give you cardio, endurance and toughness. Most wing chun schools don't have such a strict physical regimen.

From a technical point of view, I've seen footage of a wing chun guy sparring with a guy doing MT techniques, and the MT guy just can't get close enough to do anything.

I think on balance, I'd go with MT as the preferable style, although it's not as clear cut as many people would like to think. Training in MT does not automatically make you a good fighter, it's all about your own personal discipline, mental attitude etc.

I train both Wing Chun and Muay Thai. Each is better in one area versus the other and each has a different strategy for fighting based on their footwork, stance, and techniques. Muay thai is good for distance fighting, clinching, and kicking. You can apply it if you have an open space like the ring because more evasive and attacking movement is involved. Wing Chun is better in confined spaces. It is more efficient and the movements require less energy. Muay thai trains your eyes more and Wing Chun trains what happens when someone gives you force when they contact you. Learn both and learn how to transition between the techniques of the two styles if you want to be a well rounded fighter.

wing chun is great in it's own rights, but most of wing chun is close distance trapping, and punching.

I dont know but id love to see 2 well trained fighters go at it. Thats the kind of MMA i wanna see!!!
