Is there anyway to open a Pro Tools session with Garageband or any other software?
I've got some sessions done in a studio that used Protools, I have the tracks all saved in pro tools format on a flash drive and I'd like to open them. However, I don't have pro tools. There is folder that says Audio Files, with about 639 files in .WAV format, so I could listen to say just the guitar or bass drum on a song, however their not in any particle order or really labeled properly. Is there anyway to convert the pro tools to Garageband and open it?

You could load all the wav files into Audacity, a free audio editor. Then you could arrange, compress, add effects, fades, and whatnot. Here is the link to the download: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ I did not like garageband at all, so I don't really know about it. If it has a sampler, then you could probably load the wav files into the sampler in garageband. That is what I do in Reason 4, which has incredible virtual samplers. However, then your long tracks are being 'triggered' and play through, rather than the data of the wave being read at each moment. I don't know if you get me, but it gets annoying working with a triggered wav file that is over 10 seconds.

(.WAV) files are universal.. they can be loaded in any DAW.. they aren't a pro tools format they're an audio format.. and you can use garage band to load the wav files. I haven't looked at garage band in some time, but there should be an "import audio" option that you would use to browse for the files and load into garage band.
