How did you know you were going into labor?

oh you'll know!! -- Everybody says that and I didn't believe them, but its true!

I went into labor at 38 weeks. I never had bh contractions and then at 3am one morning i woke up with cramps every 10 minutes. About an hour later i noticed they weren't going away and were pretty consistent and got up to finish doing the things i needed to do for the baby!! I had already dropped and lost the mucus plug. I had also the few days previous been cleaning like crazy and crying a lot, which i never do :) They were ten minutes apart and then they got closer (4 minutes and then 2 minutes apart) And began hurting!! And i knew it would be sooN!! I was in labor for 24 hours total.

I went in a check-up, 3 days past my due date. I was still only 2 cm dilated. My doctor scheduled me to be induced 4 days later, which I was not happy about. I went home and an hour later I thought I had wet myself. Got cleaned up and it happened again an hour later. I didn't think much of it because I wasn't in any pain and wasn't getting any contractions. That was at about 10:00am. I went with my stepfather to take my little brother for his 2 month shots. I sat in the waiting room for two hours and when I got up I felt a trickle, soaked through a pad and everything else, so I walked right over to labor and delivery and sat there for another hour before I was seen. When the nurse was checking me, my water broke completly and I was admitted. I wasn't dilating and my contractions had to be induced. I started pushing at 9am the next morning. I pushed for 3 hours before I was told that I needed a c-section. My son was born at 1:04pm that afternoon via c-section. He's 6 months old now.

I have given birth to 5 beautiful kids and each labor and delivery was different! My first started with labor pains at 9 pm that were about 20 mins apart. As the night wore on they became closer together and by 5:30 in the morning the pains were 5 mins. apart and I left for the hospital. My water never broke and I did not have a bloody show with him. They broke my water for me at the hospital. He was born that afternoon at 3:30 pm. By the time I had my fifth baby...the delivery was much quicker. I was there at midnight and she arrived at 1:30 a.m.

I was having contractions all day but they weren't regular but painfull so I went for a labor check and was dialated to a 3 and was sent home than about 30 minutes after being sent home my water burst and I had son 4 hours later.

Both my labor experiences were different. With my daughter I started contractions at 32 weeks. I delivered at 35 weeks do to them trying to stop my contraptions for 3 weeks. I didn't even know it was contraptions till they told me. My water broke when I was sleeping I was already dilated to 9 she was born right away. I was in labor for 25 1/2 hours. (Most of it painful even with epidural) Mainly cause they were trying to stop the labor. My son.... My water broke 2 weeks before due date and he was born in 3 hours. I only knew he was coming so fast cause the pain was unbearable and it was 5 minutes apart almost right from beginning!!!!!!

~I started getting contractions on Tuesday March 17 2009. They were very light but also very regular. I timed them and after 3 hours of being 4 minutes apart consistantly I went to the hospital.

Contractions Started ~ 7pm

Went to the hospital ~ 10pm

Aliyah was born at ~ 6pm the next day

With my first born, I worked on my feet up to the day my water broke. the week before was horrible. Things got harder and harder on me and my patience had worn completely. I ended up being induced at 4cm dilated 100% effaced and ruptured water with no active labor. I blame/thank constant working and end of pregnancy sex for the(almost) painless boost thru the process. My active labor was only a few hours...my second pregnancy was quite different. I had twins and also went into preterm labor at 29 weeks. They gave me one shot to stop it, and prescribed me precardia to help mellow down my contractions. That bought another 5 weeks...I went to l&d on a Saturday when my pain level had became intolerable. They said i was dehydrated, pumped me full if fluids and discharged me. At my check up the following Monday, I was dilated to a 5 with a bulging bag of waters and sent to l&d and ended up doing the c section the next day...you'll know when it's time. Just wait!!!:)

I was laying down with my hubby and I had been feeling oil contractions... So I got up to go pee and all of a sudden I felt water dripping...LOL my hubby was like why couldn't you wait to get to the bathroom?? But then I knew it was my water breking once I started leaking so much!!! But you will know when it's labor

I had a bloody show and went to the hospital. They monitored me to see if I was having contraction but I wasnt so they were going to send me home but out of nowhere I started getting regular contractions and started dilating. It happened so fast!

of course i started having contractions but i just thought it was false labor for when i got checked out i found out that it was true labor
