Slide the MODE switch to the TV position.

Press and hold the MUTE and SELECT keys at the same time until the green light under the TV position flashes twice, then release both keys.

Using the number keys enter the 5-digit code for your brand of TV. If performed correctly, the green light under TV flashed twice.

Aim the remote at your TV and press the PWR key once. Your TV should turn off. If it does not turn off, repeat steps 3 and 4, trying each code for your brand until you find the correct code.

Slide the MODE switch to the DIRECTV position. Press TV POWER. Your TV should turn on.

This wasn't the first answer I found, but it was the best. I followed the instructions and programmed the remote to my LG TV which wasn't listed on the DirecTV setup. I happier than Justin Beiber being adored by a room full of 12-year-old girls!

just a little revise. I have the RC71H (smaller) remote. In order for it to work you have to do the following:

1. MUTE + SELECT same time for 5 sec. green light will flash twice

2. press 1, green light will flash

3. enter the last 4 digits of the codes above, if the code is correct then green light will flash once, if not then red light will flash once. keep trying each code, one should work for you.

My TV is 32LN530B, it works with the first code 1423

11423 always seems to work for me on LG tvs
