No you can't! Visine won't do anything for Cherry Eye, other than possibly making it worse. You never use any kind of medication on a dog, that is used on humans unless a vet tells you to do that. Cherry Eye can only be fixed surgically by a vet. Ask the vet it he or she will take payments for the Cherry Eye surgery. Most vets I know, will work out a payment schedule.

Cherry eye needs surgery, visine will only irritate it more. With no money the poor dog will suffer you really need to save up, Don't buy pop or Chocolate for a couple months to pay for surgery. Save up some how.

Visine only takes the redness away, it doesn't treat the underlying problem...what is causing the eye problem. It can make some eye problems worse. Drops don't last long in the eye. Ask your vet for an ointment instead if that is available for his condition. Let your vet know that the current therapy is not working so he can adjust the medication and/or instructions!

Cherry eye is usually fixed through surgery. I would highly recommend not using human products on your dog unless directed to by your veterinarian. You might damage your pet's eyesight.

If you do not have the finances, you can still call your vet and ask for the best course of action. They may be able to offer a payment plan. If not, they may tell you signs to look for that would require immediate medical attention or ways to keep your pet comfortable until you can bring him in.

No. Do not put visine in your dog's eye. If he has cherry eye make sure you flush it out a few times a day with water. Consult your vet for long term care if you're not planning on fixing it.

    NOOOooo!

You need to go to the drug store & buy a bottle of (it's cheap) ARTIFICIAL TEARS. There's lots of brands to choose from or you can just ask the folks at the pharmacy counter to help you.

You can put a drop in as often as 4 times a day to help keep the eye lubricated.

visine will not help your dogs cherry eye.

When our dogs used to get eye infections the jackaroos would swab their eyes with used tea bags. Don't know if this will help you but it always seemed to work for them.

If something is made for human use, it's generally NOT a good idea to use it on your pets. ALWAYS, ALWAYS check with your vet. That's what they're there for. Make them work for their money!! (lol)
