    Walk this Way - Aerosmith

    Summer Day - Coconut Records

American Girls - Counting Crows (although all of the songs on the 'Films About Ghosts' album are brilliant)

Sunshine of Your Love - Cream

Come on Train - Don Thomas

    Buck Rodgers - Feeder

    All Right Now - Free

All Summer Long - Kid Rock (cheesey i know, but its not all that bad)

Young Folks - Peter Bjorn & John

    15 Step - Radiohead

    Black Betty - Ram Jam

Higher Ground - Red Hot Chili Peppers

    Baba O'Riley - The Who

Failing any of those, anything by Bon Jovi sounds good to me!

There should be something in my list that appeals to you. Good Luck!

Modest Mouse - They're incredibly american, the lyrics, the guitar, everything.

I reccommend, for a roadtrip, the Album 'this is a long drive for someone with nothing to think about'.

Or, if your driving out west, get 'the lonesome crowded west' its probably a better album too.

Will Smith-Summertime, Kajagoogoo-Too Shy, Go West--Call Me and We Close Our Eyes, Duran Duran-Save a Prayer, Pet Shop Boys(feat. the late Dusty Springfield)-What Have I Done to Deserve This?, ABC-Poison Arrow and Millionaire, Mr. Mister--Kyrie, Don Henley--Boys of Summer, Toto--Stranger in Town

    Good luck, guys...

BTW, I'm 39(tomorrow) and I remember the '80s real well!

What better song than Highway To Hell?!

Dunno if this is really what you're looking for, but AC/DC - Highway to Hell is always a good roadtrip song.
