I'm upset beyond belief!...why is there NO outrage over this travesty?

Anyone else w/ me on this?...

A friend of mine is a sheriff's deputy in the L.A. metro area, and he owns a cat(he's been a cat lover his entire life)...

Recently, he's been threatened w/ a write-up from his Internal Affairs unit for being a "cat lover"--to them, REAL cops love ONLY dogs(and ONLY certain breeds, like pitbulls, doberman pinschers, etc.)...his choice from IAD:get rid of the cat and adopt a "dangerous dog", or you're fired!...what's socially wrong w/ being a cop AND a cat lover...is it an "image: thing amongst ALL cops in the US?...or just something regional?

It's just not right...if I was a sheriff's deputy, I'd be proud to brag about my love for cats...and if IAD hates that, screw 'em!

Another down-the-street neighbor was just arrested yesterday morning by the local sheriff's office(near Pomona, CA) for DUI...the problem?:it happened 15 YEARS AGO!...IN PHOENIX!

As of right now he's being hauled off to the infamous "Tent City" to face the charges...

He appeared in the Maricopa County courts in '96 to answer to the charges, but the arresting officer never showed up, so the judge let him go...NOW he faces a "no-bail" felony bench warrant for "failure to appear" for the same charge???...stupid!...now he's legally blind, suffering from Alzheimer's, hasn't driver in 10 years, and the MCSO will have NO sympathy for his deteriorating condition...will he have to serve the full sentence for the framed-up "FTA" for the DUI?

Like I said, this is STUPID!...HE showed up in court, the cop didn't, he was let go, NOW THIS???...

Is it "Arpaio's Revenge"???

My down-the-street neighbor(age 22) got his very first L.A. County jury summons last week...he said that his whole name was misspelled, as was his address(even the WRONG house number!)...he promptly threw it away...I told him that the L.A. County Jury Commsssioner will send the Sheriff's Department after him in THREE weeks if he DOESN'T respond, and he said "so what???"...

Big mistake?...or should he have to "register" by phone and report to court?

What should I tell him?

My favorite restaurant refuses to serve sour cream w/ their famous "bean-less" chili, but instead offers Ranch dressing, and personally, it tastes better than sour cream...frankly, I'm surprised it's not a big hit here in the L.A. area...

I'm embarassed to admit that I'm a Republican, but I share many of the Democrats' viewpoints...

But it seems that the GOP is determined to turn the USA into a "China clone" or "North Korea clone", where ONLY one political party is allowed to exist, abortion is a federal offense punishable by death to the mother AND the doctor, and ALL media outlets must broadcast ONLY the GOP viewpoints everyday...whereas also every home must have a picture of the POTUS in every room, and ALL political candidates for any office must ignore the pleas of the homeless at all times...homeless people are to be jailed for "tarnishing the image of the Republic", and only if you make enough money to live with a family of four AND a dog, then you can legally vote...cats are forbidden as "family pets"...

Labor unions have it going easy for them:they threaten major physical violence against ANYONE who dares to oppose THEIR viewpoints, whether it be mayors, governors, or whatever...to those idiots, it's "THEIR way or the highway!"...they control the voting blocs throughout Michigan, West Virginia and Pennsylvania, and declare war on any talk-radio host who dares to argue w/ them...

Why is it that it's ONLY the GOP that has a say about every aspect of life, and to heck with poor folks, who have more of a say on their future?

Please explain, and NO "Rush Limbaugh"-like snotty answers, OK?

How can Avenged Sevenfold be classified as a heavy-metal band, when even their music doesn't sound like "traditional" heavy-metal?...or even "speed metal"?...is it hard to describe or classify their music?

With a name like that, A7X(their other name?) sounds more like post-Nirvana "grunge" metal than REAL heavy-metal!

I don't know, though...to me, heavy-metal sounds like classic Judas Priest, classic Metallica(when Kirk, James and Lars still had long shaggy hair!) or even Iron Maiden(yikes!)!!!...maybe Twisted Sister(Dee Snider was a good example) or Motley Crue...

But for the L.A. Times to classify A7X as "heavy-metal" is shocking!...OK, maybe KROQ-ish, but...can this be considered an insult to its fans?...

Remember, I'm almost 40, and I'm used to some heavy-metal stuff(only certain bands), so please don't yell at me for being a little "ignorant", OK?

After seeing the atrocious behavior from her during this season's "Amazing Race", what do you think of Ericka now?...

Personally, she reminded me of "Evil Jonathan" Baker three seasons back(when he beat up his then-fiancee Victoria at the pit stop at Berlin's famed Brandenburg Gate!)...but Ericka really took the cake with her "DIVA" 'tude!

This should send a message to the ABC folks: STOP putting on so many athletes(yes, snowboarder Louie Vito included!) on this show...it's about CELEBRITIES dancing with such popular choreographers like the Hough siblings, Mark Ballas, Lacey Schwimmer, Louis van Amstel and Chelsie Hightower...and having such NFL "greats" like Michael Irvin and other sports stars like Olympic skater Kristi Yamaguchi RUINS the excitement of the show...we want more REAL celebrities like Cloris Leachman, Alan Thicke, and Aaron Carter!...say, how about(for next season) Lynda Carter, Jodie Foster, and Rob Pilatus(ex-Milli Vanilli)?...
