Is there anything not made in Australia in New Zealand?

Hi,

I'm a South African (that explains quite a lot) student studying in Oz at the moment. I've noticed basically anything I buy (from shampoo to breakfast cereal) all have Oz and NZ mentioned on the labels along with "Made in Australia" or "Product of Australia". So do the Kiwis import almost everything from the Aussies?

Thanks.

I found your question interesting. I don't know much about other countries, so any little thing such as this, is interesting to me. When you asked that question, I thought about us here in America and how we can't hardly find anything that isn't made in China.

Sometimes but the big aussie business's are either Kiwi owned or staffed by Kiwi's, that how they keep there productivity up

He He He, Let battle begin

Anyway our neighbours are South African, been here bout 18 months. He is a fitter/turner, she works at local hospital and like a lot of your countrymen they by passed aussie and came direct to NZ

Australians don't like to buy foods or toiletries made in China because the quality control in China can't be trusted. Food like chocolate or Deli items or toiletries can be from Europe as they only export really good products but these tend to be special treats not every day items, well depending how rich you are.

I always buy my shoes from Kums a New Zealand company because of the quality and comfort.

I'm not shore how many Australian products line the shelves in NZ.

A lot of them have production in both countries. Unilever for example make deodorant, shampoo, etc.. They have factories in NZ and Aus.

Probably because Australia is so close, so its cheaper to import with the shorter distance.
