Did you ever answer the phone expecting it to be someone, and it was someone else...?

...and the fact that it wasn't the person you were expecting threw you off for the whole call?

I hate it when that happens.

Is it weird to call them back later and explain why you were so off, or is it better to just let it go?

Update:

It was at work -- I was expecting help on a problem from the main office, and it was a completely different person on a completely different problem. To make matters worse, he didn't identify himself, but just assumed I knew what he was talking about.

Since I was distracted, I thought he was the opposite person - that is, it was Sal looking for Doug (but he had forgotten Doug's name), and I thought it was Doug. They sound kind of similar, so I was just really confused, and therefore made a complete moron of myself on the phone. Should I call Sal and explain myself?
