Flying flags in Britain?

I have heard that its not alowed to for one to fly the Union Jack in your own front yard, is this true? Just asking.

    I have heard that to in the newspapers but it's not true you can all you want it's all this fuss about it being racist so we have to be pc about it no car stickers of union jack or anything like that what a disgrace but yea fly the flag with pride.

    Not true. The only thing is, you're supposed to apply for planning permission from the council to erect a flagpole. Me - I dont fly the Union Flag (its only the Union Jack when its flying from a ship) but I do have the Scottish Saltire flying from my garden hut and stickers on the car.

    If u maintain some powers and abstain others (ie the USA) then it could be possible. You must atleast combine social programs. However, I would be sad if you abandoned your heritage! Keep your flags flying regardless of the EU. I hear there is a movement to tighten the original EU nations first and force the others to adjust to gain the additional benefits. The plan seems logical; give it a chance. An optimistic American oh yes and keep up the good work fellas. I heard the EU has agreed to meet 30% of energy needs with green power.

    Yes you can, it's just us Brits are generally not into flag flying, apart from times around international football events :)
