did you not go see the Movie Mel Gibson Directed Apocalypto ????? OMG well if you want a great first rate view of the aztecs there ya go.... it is in the decline of there culture when they went in overdrive with the sacrifices BUT As one archeologist there were issues yes but for the Lay person its awesome

Apocalypto drew a lot of inspiration from the movie "The Naked Prey" which is about a white guide leading a group of rich men on an elephant hunt. The men offend some native tribesmen and they execute all of them except the guide. They give him a chance to fight for his life and they release him and let him run for his life as they send a group of hunters after him (pretty much identical scene was used in Apocalypto when they threw spears at the guys). It's a pretty fun movie to watch. A bit outlandish, but still kind of fun. No indians or Mezoamericans, but, like I said, heavily inspired Apocalypto. Also, I agree with the other answer and also suggest "The Last of the Mohicans". It's a little slow at times, but still entertaining, and that chase scene at the end, is terrific.

but apocalypto instantyl came to mind when i read your question---its almost a love it or hate it kind of film--i personally really liked it
