Help with prison time in 1973?
In 1973 what sort of things would you go to prison for for 4 years (3 years good behaviour).
Is it the same sort of thing as today or were the courts stricter/more lenient?
As many variations as possible would be appreciated or a link where I could look everything up myself.
Thanks
Jo
Thank you for your answer, I should of said i'm looking at UK.

in the 1970s in new york state there were the rockefeller laws, which allowed prosecutors to go for maximum sentences, even for small amounts of marijuana, for example..today, courts are much more lenient, especially for possession, with many states offering drug court for violators instead of prison time.
