when is the earliest time to test if you are pregnant?

Me and my partner are trying to have a baby, I have only been off the pill for 3 and a half months. Now I am 3 days late. I tried a pregnancy test and it was negative, should i wait longer to get a test, or would the test be right? I know that when you stop the pill you could be late or even miss your periods but i just thought that i would check.

The earliest you can test is 10 days past ovulation, most women don't get results until 14 days past ovulation which puts them at about the time their period is due. There are others that can't get positives until 21 days past ovulation which makes them about a week late.

Hang in there. If you sitll don't get your period in 3 more days take another test.
