realistically how would you deal with immigration?.?

if hypothetically you were in charge of the country how would you deal with the serious issue of mass immigration into the UK?

and something a little more constructive than "boot 'em all out" would be nice!.

Update:

spud! having trouble linking a and b together mate?- can't you read or something?-the footie forum is that way >>.

Update 2:

listen-i will argue the toss with you lower league supporters in the footie section-this is the immigration forum-now f*ck off!.

Update 3:

for sarah-i think it took a lot of planning thinking that answer up-wasted the other brain cell that did eh?.

Update 4:

this was a reasonable question based on the beleifs of both anti and pro immigration supporters-i wanted to see how they feel about this issue-not about wolves fc!-if you could not answer the question intelligently then don't bother trying-and take it out on my question session just because your sh!t team got relegated. now go away and leave space for the intellectuals among us.

I would do exactly what UKIP are going to do.....That is...Stop all migration into this country for the next five years....In that time clean up all the immigrants that are here now.....If they have a job or skill that can benefit the country then allow them to stay....Just like other country's do....As for the other scroungers.....Send then back to where they came from.....In five years time scrutinise each and every individual immigrant that wants to come into the country....They would have to have enough money to secure their living here until they have paid into the system for a given period of years before being given support... Just like that in Australia and other country's..

Step one: Remove all illegals and seize their assets to pay for a repatriation fund.

Step two: Review all asylum cases. Those who arrived from a safe third country may be repatriated.

Step three: Any immigrant who has committed an indictable offence should be deported together with any family members or dependents.

Step four: Revise the offence of 'Persistently failing to maintain oneself' so those who come here specifically to claim benefits will be guilty and deported.

Step five: Use the laws of treason and sedition to send the 2nd and further generations into exile.

Step six: Outlaw ritual slaughter and make the possession of inhumanely slaughtered animal products an indictable offence.

I would have only one team to vet all applications for entry. Each country will be allowed a quota of applications each month to avoid swamping the unit. Every month there will drawn up a list of "vacancies" that could be filled by skilled immigrants and cannot be filled by our own people. If more than we required have applied, the team will select the best and most suitable, based on qualification, experience and their affinity to our values and culture. The criteria will naturally favour those who are Christians, western in their outlook, dress appropriately, speak good English, smell like Yardley's lavender soap, like cricket, etc. Such criteria would also be applied retrospectively to immigrants already in the country. This system will stop mass immigration into our country.

a difficult answer to a very good question.

immigration, they should be allowed to come to the country, but dont get any more benefits than citizens of the UK, also they must have a trial when they work like how people get on the dole. people who are immigrants in this country must prove that they are going to work and work a shi.te menial job for less than minimum wage. if they refuse then "boot em out"

it may seem harsh but its their own fault there illegal.

if they emmigrated here instead of coming over the border than the case is different

I follow the UKIP stance on this. If UKIP 'ever' get elected, they will put a 5 year ban on ALL immigration.... All foreigners working here meanwhile, would be put on a 'permit to work' system, that would entitle them to be here as long as they were working and contributing to Great Britain.

I believe that 5 years would allow Great Britain 'breathing space' to sort itself out and more robust measures could be made in the meantime that would only allow people in that could offer Britain a 'valued contribution'. UKIP points to a 'similar' system of common sense and points scoring that operates in Australia and New Zealand.

I would make it much more like the Australian policy - in a nut shell, if you have something to offer that we want such as qualifications, a certain profession/skills, some money in the bank, no criminal convictions or illnesses and no more children than you can financially support yourself then we might let you in - if you are a waster with loads of kids, no skills or qualifications, have criminal convictions or illnesses then we don't want you as we have enough scrounging scum of our own. I think that would be a simple to enforce policy and I bet most of the UK would agree - with the exception of the scrounging scum!

Deport all illegals no matter what the cost, the Army could be used to knock on doors and check passports etc. Otherwise we are surrounded by people who have broken our immigration laws. Stop being ashamed of banning people from distant and very ideologically different areas of the World such as Muslims.Speed up the identity card programme, check everybody and if they do not check out they must go.

Do not allow people to come here on "holiday" or as a "student" from 3rd World countries without depositing £500,000 as a security returned when their "holiday" or "study" is over.

In my opinion citizenship should only be granted if the person is of British decent. I support an immigration policy such as that of Saudi Arabia's. Where people can come to work or study. But as soon as you get fired or graduate your stay in the country is over. Being British is more then what it says on a piece of paper, its in your blood.

    Only let in:

    skilled, hardworking workers

People who would benefit of economy/culture and lifestyle

People to fill gaps in our workforce

people who speak the language or who are making an effort to learn

People who will not try to impose their views, beliefs and religion on our society

send home people who don't fit the criteria

If any want to work and contribute to society, let 'em come. Put the bad apples in gaol instead of sending them back.

If it's a question of them using social services and depleting the budget, then perhaps we need to take another look at all these social services we're paying for, and start blaming the system instead of blaming those who take advantage of the system.

Strong nations are built on the backs of immigrants. Isolationism leads to stagnation.
