Networking/Wireless questions?

Thank you for reading this. I have a Linksys router (with wireless) (WRT610N). Connected to it is my main computer running Vista Home Premium 64 bit. I also have a laptop and another computer running XP home edition 32 bit. I have a 1TB external hard drive on my main computer. I also have a all in one printer connected via USB directly to the router. There is a USB port on this model.

I used the LELA program that came with the router and I have set up what I think is the basic network but I can not print anything nor can I access anything on any other computer. I used the Network Wizard with a jump/thumb drive to set up the network. I can "see" the computers on my network but can not access them at all.

What do I have to do on each computer so I can print from each of them and access files on each? Again, thank you for your time.

Update:

My printer is USB only. It's a HP OfficeJet 5610xi All in one. The rear of the router has a USB port so you can hook up a external hard drive, memory stick or printer. I can "see" the printer but can't print to it.

I think I need to configure my computers in some way. I'm sure it's a simple step I'm just not getting to make this work. Thank you for your time.

    1) place each pc in the same work group. This may have been completed using the network wizard disk.

    2) set the firewall(s) on each pc to allow print and file sharing. Windows firewall and any third party firewalls like McAfee

    3) you must share out the printer from the PC to which it is attached. Right click =>sharing

    4) add the printer on each pc that will use it. You should be able to browse to it.

    Good Luck!

first of all u need to know is your printer a network printer or not. to know this just see the rear side of printer and if there is a LAN connectivity socket, than your printer is a network printer. and u can use it on network only through LAN (not USB).

do you have all drivers as much as this element???? As a final motel, perhaps its a small concern with the usb port on the pc, examine in the event that they have all the drivers as much as this element, and if that doesnt artwork, attempt to place in a separate usb ports card on a pci get entry to on the pc, perhaps the ought to help.
