  • BJU vs. Alpha Omega Curriculum?

Someone tells me Bob Jones is much better and I have looked at it and it is more colorful, but is it really worth spending twice as much? For two children? What are your opinions?

  • I bought a 10lb ham earlier in the year and is has been frozen solid since then. Can I still use it?

I bought a ham to use last Easter but didn't use it. Instead I've had it in the freezer frozen solid since then and have been slowly defrosting it in the fridge since Monday. It is still sealed in a thick plastic vacuum bag and shows no evidence of freezer burn or any discoloration. This thing was as hard as a rock, deep frozen and never thawed since it was in the freezer.

Will I still be able to use it tomorrow for Thanksgiving dinner?

  • Networking/Wireless questions?

Thank you for reading this. I have a Linksys router (with wireless) (WRT610N). Connected to it is my main computer running Vista Home Premium 64 bit. I also have a laptop and another computer running XP home edition 32 bit. I have a 1TB external hard drive on my main computer. I also have a all in one printer connected via USB directly to the router. There is a USB port on this model.

I used the LELA program that came with the router and I have set up what I think is the basic network but I can not print anything nor can I access anything on any other computer. I used the Network Wizard with a jump/thumb drive to set up the network. I can "see" the computers on my network but can not access them at all.

What do I have to do on each computer so I can print from each of them and access files on each? Again, thank you for your time.

  • What is the blaster 1&2 and receiver connections for?

I got this computer a week or so ago, check it out,

    http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtool...

The remote came separate with USB eye for the remote and two wires. One was labeled Blaster and the other Receiver, they have jacks that look like audio. On the rear of my computer there are three ports, labeled Blaster 1, Blaster 2, and Receiver.

What are these wires used for? Does it have something to do with Windows Media Center?

No manuals or instructions were provided. I have not been able to find specific directions on Gateways site so I came here. Thank you for your time.

  • How do I find files to delete?

I have a laptop running Win XP. It has a 80GB hard drive. W few weeks ago I got a virus and had to re-install Windows XP. After that I re-installed a few games and files, not much but my hard drive is now full! I've tried to delete things but my hard drive is still full of stuff. I think it's left over from before the re-install. How do I find the largest files so I can delete them to free up space on the HD?

  • What do I need to marinade a fajita steak?

I've been to a few Mexican restaurants and had the fajitas before. How can I marinade steaks like they do? What are in ingredients of the marinade? I've tried googling it and looking on the food network site but haven't found a clear answer. Thank you for your time.

  • Do anti-Palin people know she is not running for President?

Since being nominated and looking at a good number of the questions here on yahoo answers I wonder if people know she is not running against Senator Obama. Why do people feel the need to attack someone they do not know in such a brutal manner? Is the Governor from Alaska such a threat to the Obama/Biden ticket? If so then how? If McCain/Palin can beat Obama/BIden then why attack with such vitriol?

  • Is getting the component cable for the Wii worth it?

I have a 46" LCD, 1080p TV and the Nintendo Wii. I'm using the cables that came with the Wii right now and every thing is looking good. My TV does have the ability to hook up component connectors. What I would like to know is, is it worth the $25 some odd dollars to buy the component connection cables for the Wii? Is there a noticeable difference that would make it a worth while purchase or is it not really worth it?

  • How do I hook up my HDTV/Wii/digital cable box and surround sound system?

    Here is what I have:

    Samsung 46” HDTV 1080p

    Nintendo Wii

    Sony home theatre system, DAV-HDX277WC

And a digital cable box from Time Warner (DVR)

I have the cable box hooked up and running and the sound (5.1) is working when I play DVDs and cable. I can play the Wii but the sound is only going through the TV and I want it to play through the home theatre. I’ve tried a few different way of connecting it but haven’t found the one way it will work yet. I’ve looked at the owners manuals but they aren’t clear on what to do when have more then two items to contend with. I also checked out Nintendo’s site and all it said was to hook the Wii output cable into the input of the cable box, which I did but it didn’t work. Any ideas?

  • On new TVs, what does 1080p, or 810i mean?

I'm looking to get a new large screen TV. What does the 1080p or 720p mean? Which is better? I'd think 1080 is better (numbers alone) but why?

I have also seen something like 1080i. What is the difference tetween the "p" and "i"? Thank you for your time.

  • What type of TV/sound system should I get?

I currently have a 7 year old 32" tv. I also have a 7 year old 5.1 surround sound system/DVD player. Attached to it all is the digital cable box, a NIntendo Wii and a little used XBox.

I want to upgrade to a flat screen 42"+ TV but with so many models I would like your ideas on what to get.

What brand, size can I get for the best prices? Where should I look? Wally World, Best Buy or some other place?

What kind of sound system should go with it?

I'd like something with wireless rear speakers, the ones I currently have have long wores that reach but looks aweful running across the ceiling or floor. Thank you all for your input.

  • How brave would they be...?

After reading the vitriol against Christianity in many replies to questions and questions themselves I have pondered the following. To those people that bad mouth, talk down to and speak ill of Christians, how brave would you be if you were in the middle east spouting your hatred against Allah? How brave would you be if your actual life were on the line for your speech? Remember the teacher and the teddy bear? They wanted her executed because one of her students named a teddy bear Mohammad. Are those that speak so badly about Christians only brave because they know Christians won’t kill them? I have seen it here so many times where ALL Christians are grouped together. Just because one supposed "Christian" did you wrong does not label us all as bad. How brave would they be if they knew them and their familes would be put to death because of their speech? They are safe here in the U.S., a country with a majority of Christians.

  • Want to make a omelet like IHOP does?

I love the omeltes from IHOP and when you read the menu it says they add pancake batter to make them nice and fluffy. My question is how can I reproduce this at home? How much do I add? Do I make the batter and then add it to the eggs or do I just add the dry powder to the eggs? Is there a particular brand to use?
